Purple Screen Problem
I can't seem to get a go because the screen is entirely purple, apart from the various menu options, if i race there's just purple color all around, i can hear the engine roaring but can't see a damn thing.

here's a picture to show what i'm talking about: http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q40/Andreas_029/pruplescreenDistance.png

at this point I selected a track i wanted to race, and this is all i can see. Any suggestions?

What are your system specs?

System specs might shine a light.. but hae you also already tried repairing the game and see what that gives? (steamlibrary -> distance -> right click ->properties -> local files -> verify files

Many thanks guys ! I tried lowering the graphic settings within the game and thus quickly realized my computer isn't as good as I thought it was...

The purple/pink screen is caused by the radial blur setting, if you have the bug. When you turn it off, the game is playable, although some effects may look weird. I actually experienced this with a computer that hadn't had the issue before, a couple days ago. A couple others have encountered it, and while I don't recall a solid solution, you can try updating/reinstalling your graphics drivers.

Yeah I figured, only now there are these giant pink squares everywhere on thet track. I suppose they rescemble some kind of checkpoint, but I can't see past them so I'll have to study the track in order to get a good run, which is pretty annoying to say the least. Plus the track editor crashes the game when i try to open it. Anyone else encountered this particulair issue ?

If I were the kind of person to place a bet on something like this-
judging by what I've seen from several computers that have been having this problem (or not).
The only common thing I can find between them is specifically the hardware setup. AMD/Radeon being the ones that have the issues, and Nvidia/Intel are the ones that don't.

If anyone can please dispute this claim, I would be grateful, as I am still looking for a workaround for this issue.

Hmm, you may be right. The computer that I mentioned had had the issue runs a years-old ATI Radeon HD 48xx, but the issue resolved itself and has never happened again yet.
