How does custom music work?
I can't seem to figure out how to get Distance to locate the folder.

Browse to a folder with mp3's in it with windows explorer, click in the address bar of windows explorer, ctrl+c, go into distance, go to the folder/location selection in the audio options, ctrl+v

It doesn't check subfolders, and only supports mp3 right now. It also isn't supported on Mac or Linux yet.

If it lists the songs but doesn't play: https://twitter.com/torcht/status/611398539956989952

That was quick! Thanks, it works too!

I'd suggest trying out the "car screen visualizer" setting in the general options along with your custom music - I prefer circle, but you have the option to use either. Try out that boombox mode and intensity slider too while you're at it ;P

If you want to test how well your particular custom music works with the ingame light sync, I'd suggest testing on this map in stunt mode:

Out of curiosity, was pressing Enter, the lack of subfolders, or something else that was confusing to you? In other words, how could I improve the menu to make it a bit more clear for you?

it was the whole address thing. I thought I needed the actual name of the folder.

Eventually you guys should add a drop down, or a browse to select a folder just to make it more user friendly.

I think this is the main issue, but honestly I don't know how people expect the game to to "just know" which folder they mean without putting the whole address there (i.e. there may be multiple "Downloads" folders in different locations). I think the main cause of this confusion is Window's "Library" folders where if you try to see the address in windows explorer, it just shows the folder name[i.imgur.com] instead of the full address[i.imgur.com] (full address only appears if you browse to the folder without using the libraries shortcuts).

My music is working, but sometimes it skips a lot. Is it because I have a bunch of tabs open on Google Chrome, or is it related to the game?

I don't think I've ever heard of it skipping before, so it sounds like it's probably something external.
