Crash on startup. How do I send the crash log to the devs?
If there's a fix for this anyone knows, I'm interested.

Post the crash log here, sometime might be able to take a look at it

This is output_log: https://pastebin.com/TNVwdQWH
This is error: https://pastebin.com/BzLmwpCJ
There's also crash.dmp, but that's inane gibberish.

Well it says:

LogitechSteeringWheel.dll caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005)
in module LogitechSteeringWheel.dll at 0023:6853ed98.

Can you try to backup your profile and start with a new profile, where the steering wheel is not used?

Your profile should be at "C:\Documents\<your user>\My Games\Distance\" (I think in folder "Profile").

Just archive the whole "Distance" folder and keep the archive as a backup, before modifying anything. Once you have a backup delete the profile .xml file (should have your Steam username in the filename).

If Distance can start then, maybe you need an update in your steering wheel drivers? Dunno how you would fix a crash there on your own (maybe there is something on the internet about the crash).

It's more likely they don't have a wheel and some other USB device is being incorrectly detected as a wheel (but it can't actually initialize the device as a wheel, since it isn't one, so it crashes). You may want to try unplugging some devices and then see if it'll launch. If you do have a wheel plugged in, then also just try unplugging it.

It doesn't seem to be about the profile and I don't have a steering wheel. I thought maybe it could be my Wacom Tablet or the open source driver for it, but that's not the case either.

I wonder if I can just delete the .dll since I don't actually use a wheel?

That did it!!! For the future internet troubleshooter, I just straight deleted logitechsteeringwheel.dll from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Distance\Distance_Data\Plugins
and from the folder where the crash logs are in documents\mygames.

Interesting solution, it is probably some other device getting incorrectly read as a wheel.

It could be the analog mode of my Wooting One.

That's very likely. Those keyboards emulate about 4-5 separate devices when you have the analog/gamepad function enabled, which has been known to cause all kinds of issues in various games. One I've previously heard specific to Distance, and potentially other games as well, is that because of the sheer amount of controllers the game thinks are connected, it causes a bit of a memory leak. You might end up getting an out of memory crash after playing for a few hours.
