Does Distance work with a Sterring Wheel + Pedals?
So after watching the new "Ready Player One" trailer, I've been thinking of investing in a VR Headset + Steering Wheel + Pedals (I'm willing to drop that kind of money since this is one of my favorite games).

Is anyone able to answer whether or not a steering wheel + pedals work well in Distance? Thanks!

Most wheels and pedals are supported yes! But like Openroadracer says the problem is when it gets to the flying and using jets to manouvre in the air :) 2 Years ago at gamescom we had an oculus display with a steering wheel pedals AND a joystick for flying, So you can imagine the perhipirals become kind of a mess at that point (nevertheless it was still fun)

I recently aquired a Vive so i could among other games play Distance in VR, and imo that alone is worth it :) i play with a controller when in VR, although technically i could hook up the Saitek X-52 for it as well.

They work, but they don't work well due to the nature of the game. You're going to need to maneuver in three dimensional space, because this is more of a platformer than a racer. Because of the need to make use of the vehicles rotational thrusters, you basically must use either a keyboard or a dual analog controller.

While I do really enjoy this game in VR it is definitly not one I can do for long periods at a time in VR seeing as the game and levels are heavily inspired by their student project Nitronic Rush which was heavily inspired by San Fransisco Rush 2049, neither of which have VR nausia friendly mechanics, I don't get motion sickness but playing for more then about 20-30 minutes at a time in VR in this game makes me feel a bit weird due to the gravity altering level designs... in VR it kind of feels like racing on a rollercoaster with the center of gravity changing from time to time, a fantastic level design but not a very nice feeling feeling for long periods of time.

Don't get me wrong, I love playing it in VR, bust in short sessions and not long bursts.

You may want to try messing with the VR options if you haven't already. Turning some of the defaults off tend to help quite a few people:

Cool I'll check those settings out. Though honestly I don't mind that it feels like you are trying to do a racing game while also on a rollercoaster, that is kind of that the tracks are like anyways.

Though reading that does make me kind of want to get a flight stick so I can actually try Elite Dangerous in VR, I love the game but can not stand console controller controls once I got use to KB&M, but that is not viable in VR with how many buttons there are so kind of need a flight stick to play it in VR.
