Why somebody hate firebug?
I think this perk really cool and I enjoy to play with. But I have no idea why somebody hate this perk. Could you tell me?

Maybe because no one knows how to play as him as effectivly as possible

Firebug is meant to be a distraction and holdout perk, making zeds slow down and leaving them to panic, which gives enough time to finish them off, especially that Firebug can hit multiple enemies at the same time

I don't main Firebug, but i do like making Zeds suffer while their blood boil and innards being cooked from inside

Because most of the unskilled Firebugs starts to attack Scrakes and FPs when they see them, enraging them and screwing up Sharpshooters, Gunslingers, Demos, etc. The whole team can be wiped in a second just because of that.

Firebugs lack firepower (no pun intended) and that is possibly why the perk is hated.
A firebugs primary objective is to burn down low to mid tier zeds and quickly secure
ways out for the team to retreat.

When you play as a firebug, leave the big zeds to a demo/sharpshooter or any other that possess high firepower.

Really fun to play with, but probably hinder the rest of the team more than one should especially for those SS or GS trying to aim for headshots.

Ground fire(arguably more useful than Barbecue) does unintentionally lights up the bigger zeds too most of the time.

Basically been said, but yeah. Big Zeds take only 30% damage from fire, scrakes take even less. When a firebug sets a big zed on fire they run around in a panic state and then immediately rage, running at your team. This make it hard to headshot.

I've found Firebug with heatwave and ground fire combos great with demos. Firebug using heatwave (massively under-rated perk. it's basically soft god-mode) and microwave gun alt fire to push big zeds back and act as a wall while demos throw rockets. If you want to help with big zeds as a firebug, try this and make sure you have no SS or Slingers.

Because the Firebug is a shell of his former self. He doesn't take any kind of skill to play solo like he used to in the original game playing HOE, his flamethrowers don't even act like flamethrowers, and instead act like glorified bunsen burners, not throwing an arc of burning fuel over a long distance, you're rewarded for mindlessly aiming at the floor instead of blasting into the crowd, the Heat Wave perk makes kiting mindless and talentless, the Flare Revolvers have been nerfed into the ground and are incredibly weak....

Need I go on?

I think the better question is, "Why do you care?".

Play whatever you like. 90% of the people who play this game play it very frequently and tolerate very little in mistakes, and that kind of mentality deserves no recognition. If you're playing Firebug in HoE with a server full of level 25s, it'd come as no surprise if they kicked you because you were doing exactly what you were supposed to do. They're all tryhard asswipes.

Firebug is sort of an independent class. You can do a ton on your own but you kinda ruin it for everyone else by making the Zeds #TimeToPanic when they're on fire.
A clip or two of the Microwave gun is usually enough to kill a Scrake, and if people are spamming damage into a Fleshpound while the Firebug microwaves it they'll usually kill. But when Sharpshooter can one-shot headshot a Skrake with the aimbotless Railgun (or two shot with the aimbot enabled) and the Demolitionist can shoot 3 Rockets at a Fleshpound to kill him, there isn't much need for the Firebug to blow his ammo load.

As a KF1 Firebug Main, this x100. KF2 Firebug is a poorly designed mess, only made slightly tolerable by the addition of the Flare Revolvers. I want my Incendiary Mac 10, Long Range Flamethrower and Husk Fireball Launcher!

Next weapon should be Husk fireball Launcher, because it can be crossed with Demo and have an alt fire to be used as a flamethrower

As much as I do want to agree with this for now, I feel bringing back the Mac10 for the firebug's long range, highly cost effective killing option would make it too similar to the Spitfires, meaning they'd be made into the higher damage, 1100 cost for two of them offensive option that the Firebug needs. The firebug has absolutely nothing for bigger zeds of any worthwhile, and as much as I like the buffs to the Trenchgun, it's still not reliable enough for consistent kills on a single fleshpound, let alone two.

Even if we get the brand new (old) Husk cannon to make its way in, we're still stuck with one of the most iconic, creative weapons that came from killing floor 1 (the flareguns) being incredibly weak and not really worth using in any situation.

Firebugs get a lot of hate simply because most people don't understand how to play the class correctly or even the game.

Most firebugs hold down LMB, spamming their ♥♥♥♥ everywhere and directly angering Scrakes / Fleshpounders when the team isn't ready. This is not how you play the class but most seem to do this, sadly.

Asides from the Spitfires and the Trenchgun, all of the Firebug's weapons take zero skill to aim and all require you to hold down LMB, most of the time not even at your target, instead firing at the feet of the zed. To trick people into believing that the Firebug in KF2 is an actually skilled class is clear delusion on your end. Even using the spitfires, trenchgun and caulk together, you won't be doing much for your team.

Fire makes things panic. If things panic, they flail around and make headshots impossible. All the other perks more or less depend on headshots.
