"Connecting to the Lobby Server:
The game will attempt to connect to the Company of Heroes 2 lobby server on boot, and stay connected for the entirety of your game session. If you get a connection error message when you first enter the main menu, it means you are failing to connect to this server. If you are unable to connect, here are some steps you can take to help troubleshoot it:
Open a web browser and follow this link: https://coh2-lobby.reliclink.com/gam...on/checkstatus
- It should bring you to a web page that says: ["ok"]
- If it does not then you need to make sure that TCP port 443 is open
- If it does work, the most likely issue is that your firewall and/or antivirus software is blocking COH2. To fix this either
1. Whitelist the COH2 executable (RelicCoH2.exe) in your firewall and/or antivirus software
2.Disable your firewall and/or antivirus software.
Connecting to the Battle Server:
The Battle Servers are what the game connects to when you host or join a custom or automatch game, and stays connect to for the duration of the game. If you get a connection error when entering the multiplayer setup screen, it means you are failing to connect to this server. If you are unable to connect, here are some steps you can take to help troubleshoot it:
1. Whitelist the BattleServer IP: 54.209.64.161 (subject to change, we will update if it does)
2. Open TCP Ports: 27015 – 27030

Aside from trying that, try disabling your antivirus temporarily and launching to see if that might be the cause of the issue.
Also if you've downloaded any custom maps from the workshop try unsubscribing and deleting them from your game. Occasionally custom maps can cause problems, even when you're not playing one of them. Esnure that the "C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes 2\mods\scenarios\subscriptions" folder is empty.
You can also try renaming your company of heroes settings folder to something like "company of heroes 2 backup" (C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes 2). The game will regenerate it once it launches, but you will lose any saved games and video/audio settings. This will hopefully purge any bad settings that may be related to the issue. If that does work then jjust move the savegames folder over to the new folder.
There was also a thread here about 3 months ago where someone was unable to connect when he was at work. Turns out it was something to do with the network settings at his job and how it was handling the traffic. But I seem to recall that thread had some extra information on pinging the battleservers and things to try testing to determine the problem. But I can't find it right now.
HOWEVER, I followed your advice for the Anti-Virus, and turned off Windows Defender (call me old-school) real-time protection, and BOOM! Could immediately connect! I originally put the exclusions for the RelicCOH.exe and the folder, but apparently that doesn't work.
However I don't to disable my only anti-virus on my PC, and was wondering what anti-virus most players use whilst playing CoH2 haha
Cheers!
I did put in exceptions and exclusions for both the .exe and folder where CoH2 is, but I guess it must have blocked other process I was unaware of. Oh well, I can find another anti-virus that will possibly be a better substitute for Defender.
