Direct X Error...
Hi

I've been really looking forward to playing this game, So today i buy it. it takes a while to install and then as soon as i start to load the game up, it came up with a load of compatibility rubbish i was then able sort this by messing with the compatibility options on steam and Coh2. once i had done this i tried it again but it keeps coming up with...

"Failed to set a working mode for the rendering device. this could be due to having an old version of Directx installed"

I have downloaded the latest Directx i have updated my AMD drivers i have downloaded as many patches and updates as i can. im getting sick of it now my friend has told me to wait it out, as a lot of people are getting this problem and Relic may bring out an update that will fix it. But to be honest im losing my patience its a waste of money at the moment.

so any suggestions for help or a fix would be grateful, oh and i have also tried the whole overlaying fix with Teamspeak etc and that hasn't fixed it.

You may wanna list your specs.
Also, I would also try to navigate to CoH2 folder in steam and try to run DxSetup from there, probably wont do much since you already tried to install but sure enough it wont hurt. (don't forget to restart computer after this)

yeah i tried that in the COH2 folder and restarted but didn't do much

Download the DirectX runtime from Microsoft
Update your Graphics card drivers

I would also try to install older graphics driver (one previous to the newest) - clean install would be prefered.
