Coh2 graphics are annoying!

I have honestly stopped playing it because I put all the graphics on low and When I play it still is laggy the fps is poor. But I can play the first one on high graphics and it runs smooth as hell. I know there's like 6 years difference between the games but the graphics havn't improved that whole much and am disapointed how my PC can't handle it. Please tell me its because its a BETA and the fact that its not fully installed on my PC.

Game looks amazing over here. Seeing the soldiers trotting through deep snow and the normal mapped foot prints. Love how the tank treads deform the actual terrain. Complimented well with great particle effects and smooth animation. Lighting is just awsome after a snow storm on a sunny day. Everything looks damn fine over on my end. Max 60 Average 47 Lowest 25 over here. Sound kicks much ass also. Blizzards on the other hand do tend to drop my fps to 25ish however.

You should play CoH1 Bk Mod... Graphic is rly better

I've played all the COH expansions. I think I played the alpha for Bk Mod but it was very early when I did play it if I played it at all. I find both games to look simular but more normal mapping and better lighting in COH2. I don't remember if terrain was deformed by vehicles in COH. That said COH is still a very good looking game and playable to this day. I wish a cheaper version wason STEAM with all the updates and expansions. I have the old retail version heh. What a nightmare that was to patch...

I got some weird intermitend problem. Can run smooth, then the insane lag on scolling. Try the usual suspects.

Check CPU use in task manager.
Firefox or Acrobat running away with CPU?

You did not post specs, I got a reasonable graphics card but meh CPU. Some aspects of physics can tax CPU (depending on AMD/NVIDIA). Try turning physics, particles and shadows to medium.

Sometimes it could be only a problem for a certain map, a certain shader or effect causes problems for certain driver versions etc etc.

I was gonna write this game of, but it works OK now.

I am running a Radeon HD6990 4GB on an i5 2500k CPU with 16GB Ram. This is the first game i have bought where i cannot run everything on max. I am still running 1920x1080 but I have had to turn off AA entirely and turned image quality to low. This amazed me as i run ALL my other games maxed out with full AA. I wouldnt mind quite so much if the game was amazing to look at but even with everything tuned to max the graphics are nothing special compared to older games like Order of War, Battlefield 3, Space Marine or even Dawn of War Retribution. I am hoping it is a Beta issue with my setup but i suspect it is just bad / lazy coding.

hmm just played one match, most on high setting in gfx .. first impression is that the graphics somehow is to crips or how should i expain it and the animation and textures doesnt seems to look natural on the map. maybe I need some time to get use to the gfx, but to me the coh 1 mod Blitzkrieg looks way better. Also the icons over the players and the color change when hovering the mouse the units looks to cartoonish.

Dont worry about it sating you cant runit on max , im sure it'll be fixed before launch . I only say this becasue im running i7 3770K @ 4.6GHz with 16 Gb Patriot 2133MHz CL11 Ram and a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ EVGA Titan Overclock @ 1137MHz ( GPU) and 3060 MHz (real memory ) and it tells me i cant run it on max settings, but i can , obviously quite easily

This is why posts like this is useless. You dont supply any information about youre system. You complain about poor fps but we have no idea if youre system is 6 yo or 1 month old. Textures are ok, I guess nothing brilliant, but thats beacuse to many fools insiste on playing on theyr 6 yo rigs with 2 gig memory and 32bit os. I say forget them, force them to upgrade. Its about time ye?

Anyways got sidetracked a bit, post youre system config. If you got a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ pc, then I would say, care. :)
