Please help! "Error Code 53" from steam

I have been a long time steam user, and have recently been playing Company of Heroes 2 as well as Civ 5. Last night i tried to play both of these games and they came up with the same Error message "Steam Servers are top busy right now (Error Code 53)" I tried uninstalling steam as a whole, still nothing. Steam support is useless. I've always stood by Steam&Valve cause I think they are so great! But after this I'm not sure anymore, when I look this issue up on other forums the question goes unanswered. It's as if there isn't any real solution. I've turned off Firewall, everything you could imagine. If you have Expirience with this problem PLEASE help. Many Thanks

I have same problem and I make free space on my disk where I have steam instaled. Try that.

I have had the same problem with the coh2 beta AND civ 5. It randomly works sometimes and randomly gets the error.

I had this same problem with Deadpool.
But then, it installed.
My experience is that we have to wait it out, unfortunetly.
Hell, I'm trying to install CoH2 also, and I'm getting the error code 53 too.
As I said, we can only wait it out.

I find that restarting your computer after update negates the error code 53 (because the error only presents itself after an update).

You could try disabling the real-time-scan of your anti-virus. This helped me at least.

This drove me nuts for days, I tried the real-time-scan disabling on the ant-virus, and that fixed it. Thanks Beer Grills!
