Error 183
When I play a custom game one out of three matches will crash and a screen pops up that says, "Failed to create dump file. (Error code 183)." This has been happening since I bought the game. After playing a game on expert in a 3 v 3 match for an hour and a half it crashed right before the end of the match. I am PISSED that this issue has not been resolved. Can anyone help me fix this of at least tell me WTF is going on?

Thanks, I will try this out and see if it works.

It's a memory error from Windows. In the link O.s.Nasty gives, you have to make sure you follow the link given about three posts down on that thread to increase page file. That should fix the issue, but if not, then you need to test your RAM to make sure it's functioning properly. MemTest86 is a good third-party tester to do that with. And if you have less than 4GB RAM, then you need to upgrade to at least 4Gb or preferrably 8Gb before you do any nof that, because frankly, 2 or 3 Gigs of RAM even with page filing won't be enough to run the game plus your OS.

Sorry to necropost, but I have been plagued with this "Error 183" as well and I wanted to share my experience. Below is my correspondence with Sega "Support" (or lack there of). Although my solution to rebuild your OS is not always feasible, it did work in my situation.

ME:
I consistently get this crash error message at the end of each multiplayer game when I am sent to the ending stats screen. Occasionally I will receive this error when starting a game, but not as frequently as during the ending stats. I have been able to cause the error when running a performance check within CoH2 when I am sent to the screen that shows my FPS from the test. I am kicked back to a Windows (Windows 7 Pro SP1 x86) desktop with the error dialog box "Error 183 "Failed to Create Dump File"". I have updated drivers, lowered settings, moved my game files to SSD, upgraded my video card, among other things that I cannot remember. I have tried so many things to get this error to go away. Please help. Thank you.

Hello, Please provide us with your system’s DxDiag file, so we can properly diagnose the issue you are experiencing.
To do this:
• Open the Start menu
• Select Run. Note that some versions of Windows do not have "Run"; simply use the search field for the next step.
• In the box, type the following: dxdiag
• Click "OK"
• Click the "Save All Information" button on the first screen of the application.
• Then on top of the "Save As" box that pops up, select Desktop (if it's not set to save there already), then click Save.
• Finally, attach the dxdiag.txt file to your email reply.
Once we have received this file from you, we will be able to research this issue fully and provide a more insightful resolution.
Thank you,
Chris

My dxdiag.txt is attached. I appreciate your help, Chris.
Just some additional information. I installed a new hard drive to test the game (CoH2) on a clean OS install. On a new build of Windows 7 Pro SP1 x86, I received the same crash message upon exiting the CoH2 "Performance Test" (I ran the test only once) with my settings all set to "Low".
I then rebuilt the spare hard drive with Windows 7 Pro SP1 x64 and performed the same tests. I was able to run 10 consecutive performance tests within the game with all settings set to "High" without a crash.

Hey x, you seem to be all up to date. Have you tried a clean uninstal? To manually uninstall a Steam game, follow these steps:
Open the Steam client and log into your account.
Go to the Library tab and locate the game you wish to uninstall.
Right click the game and select "Delete local content".
Under the Start/Window menu, open "Control Panel"
Open "Folder Options"
Under the "View" tab, enable "Show hidden files and folders" then click "OK".
Open the "C:\Users\your user name\AppData\Temp\" folder and delete any files inside.
Open the "C:\Users\your user name\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\" and "C:\Users\your user name\AppData\Settings\" folders, then delete anything in these folders related to the game.
Consider using a registry cleaner like CCleaner and running the "Disc Cleanup Utility" from the Control Panel.
Alternately you could manually search your registry for entries from the game using the "regedit" run command (not recommended for those unfamiliar with editing registry keys).
When cleaning your registry or using the cleanup utility, ensure that you only delete files, folders, keys and other items related to the game.
Thank you,
Chris

Chris,
Thank you. As I mentioned in my previous email:

Thanks x, But have you followed those specific steps rather then just deleting the game? Thanks.
Thank you,

Chris, I did a clean reinstall of Windows 7 32 bit and reinstalled the game and still received the dump file error message. However, I do not receive the error from a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit.

That is all the trouble shooting we have here. We recommend posting the question in the forums for further assistance.

LOL. Really?

I was able to get a consistent results, without the Error 183 message, by running my game settings at the recommended options or higher on a Windows 7 SP1 x64 build. I hope this helps someone else.

¡Encontré la solución! ¡Me corre a la perfección!

Estos parámetros los define:

-nocrashdialog -console -soft -dxlevel 81 -heapsize 1572864 -refresh 60 -noipx -nojoy

Y corre de lujo! y sin "creashear"

INTENTELO!
