ardennes assault question help please

I have just bought the Ardennes assault for £30 through steam. On this account i did not own any of the company of heroes game but on my other account have them all. I was told this is a stand alone expansion game which is why i have used my different account so my friends can also play it, but after i installed it, i cant find anything that mentions ardennes assault anywhere for it. Also if i try to click on campaign it says i must purchase company of heroes 2, and if i click on it it redirects me through steam where it already says its in my libarary.

If this is a stand along game why is it saying i need to buy company of heroes 2 in order for me to play ardennes assault ? or even company of heroes 2 itself ( even though it was a 17gb download approx )
Also where does all these new missions appear as cant find anything at all. basically i can load the games menue and click on the icons but nothing else. Help please

Ardennes won't be playable without COH2. It's not standalone.

are you kidding me ? there main website says its a stand alone, also on the press conference he says its stand alone. ( watch the you tube video ) so i basically have to spend another £30 for company of heroes 2 again in order to now be able to play it, even though i already own it on a different account on the same pc ? and im assuming steam will not let me gift it from one account to the other ?

This is a standalone expansion, you are able to play it without the base game. Ardennes Assault was just released, have you downloaded the update? Please restart Steam and see if you can start the campaign. If you still have problems after - post in this thread and we will figure it out.

Hi Val_RE,

I purchased Ardennes Assault and I was prompted to download a 499mb update (I already own all the other content and DLC). After downloading the update I ran the game to find the option to play the new campaign. When I click this it brings me to a menu where I can choose to launch the campaign on Easy/Medium/Hard. However, after selecting my difficulty and pressing 'Launch', nothing happens. Nothing. I can press other difficulties and try launching, but it just won't start.

Any ideas?

I don't own a copy of Company of heroes 2 vanilla and the game isn't showing up in my library either.

downloaded the 1.8gb . Ardenees Assault now appears as seperate campaign and plays fine. So basically yes it is a stand alone expansion but i cant play the original company of heroes 2 campaign without rebuying it :(, oh well thanks for the help, guess was to impatient ;/

Hi Val_RE,

Many thanks for the swift response! I just completed a 'Verify Integrity of Cache', and it then downloaded a 13.7mb update. I ran the game once more, but still the problem persists. I can see the difficulties, select any of them, hit 'Launch' but nothing. :(

I have also restarted Steam numerous times since 23.00, and I have checked to make sure the DLC is registered with my Steam account; it is. Any other ideas?

I just downloaded an additional 13.7mb after the second verify. Nothing since that though :(
