Panzerbüchse 39
Why is this weapon not included in multiplayer? I've seen it used by panzergrenadiers in the campaign but always wondered why it was never an option in multiplayer. I think it would be pretty cool to see a commander with them incorporated as an upgrade similar to soviet tank hunter tactics. what do you think?

because it sucks?

Why should they have it? They already have a non-doc better AT weapon

I wouldn't mind Assault Grenadiers having a PzB 39 upgrade in Battle Phase 2 for about 60 munitions. Just to give them a slight boost come mid game.

It'll have some use against AA halftracks, which would be nice

No, i dont think it's that important. besides, they have panzershreks. I'd probably give them secondary optional mg upgrade though. Or if not, 1 more squad member. (guards do get a 6 man squad afterall...) That's fair imo.

Ostheer germans portrayed ingame are from late 1943 to mid 1944. OKW are late 1944, early 1945. As such, the Panserbuche 39 has no place.

It would be useless anyway, trust me.

how would that help? the weapon performs in line with PTRS before accuracy buff. And before the buff there was no reason to pick this weapon up because bolt action rifle was more useful.

I'm still hopeful this could replace the shrek on volks, you don't see Sov players complaining about it on their conscripts do you?

I'm more curious why OKW is stuck with the Pz2 over the 38t (made famous by Rommel's 'Ghost Division')

Panzerbüchse 39 is not equal to PTRS at the moment, those weapons don't perform as the soviet counterpart do.

But, if the performance will be about the same, it can help a lot implementing them.

What i realy complain is the way PTRS (and pzb39) work atm.
Those weapons make such a damn dmg to infantry that is not normal any more.
I see a lot of PTRS gunned soldiers that do insane dmg to infantry (and tanks).

What i personaly would change is the way those weapons work.
Those weapons should not do the insane dmg on the tanks as now (the penetration is a bit to big, at least on middle and heavy tanks), they should slower the speed of the tanks.
Why not, as long as the PTRS and PZB39 shoot at the tank, the tank has ~25% lower speed.
Perhaps it would be the other way to stop (slower) a tank, because as it is now you can stop (slow) a tank only by damaging his engine, if the throwed faust or nade success (mines also).

PTRS and PZB39 were build to damage the wheels of the tanks.
Damaged wheels means that the tank will cannot move at the same speed as w/out damaged wheels.
To simulate this real situation the PTRS and PZB39 should slower the tank speed.
