anyway your comment means if there is 2 panther ingame vs usa i should quit :3
there is no way you can flank 2 with the infentry around them
i should count on AT guns and many of them.
thanks for the info.
No there wasnt.
Get Jacksons against heavier tanks.
why do i recall there was a side armor in COH TOV ? nevermind
thanks anyway.
E8 soaks the damage while the jackson flanks essentially. or both tanks flank as they're both faster than the jackson. It's actually easier to have 2 e8 1 jackson so that there's twice the flanking power. try to single the tanks out if possible with at grenades if you can, frontal assault doesnt work but side and rear hits still have possibility to damage engine.
M10 was considered obsolete around the time Panthers became ubiquitous on the battlefield.
As with Shermans, they were used because they were what was on hand.
Also, as Han Solo mentioned, CoH2 isn't aiming at being a simulator. A lot of the mechanics that allowed an M10 to successfully engage a Panther is simply not available in the game.
Though the number of times that actually happend tended to be celebrated exceptions to the expected outcome.
Oh, and M10 wasn't all that mobile compared to its targets. One of the reasons why it got replaced by the much ligher Hellcat.
(Edit: spellingz fixes because grammar and dinner don't mix well. Delicious, delicious dinner... :) )
If you hit a Panther from the Side you have a 20% chance to hit the rear armor. Most other tanks are 50% frontal armo and 50% rear.
And to all the real life arguments....the frontal armor they want to model realistically....the Penetration they want to model realistically....but the speed...ummm wasnt even as fast as a T34...and well side armor was trash so that the front armor could be good. Which of course we dont see in the game. And then there are the HPs...want to make a piece of armor durable just give it more HPs.
Not Speed, HPs, Armor, Pen, range and......Blitz....
Remember bounces do not allow dedicated AT units to gain ANY vet. And vet is what you need to deal with these units.
all hail lord bendtner
he's the only one who can take out a panther
yup i guess it could use a bit of nerf, on the other hand how should i spent like 290 fuel of 3 tanks and the other player attack with 1 panther ? i mean by the time i have 3 tanks and 1 AT gun with few squad he will have at least 2 panther and few squads so fanking is not that easy.
+ the speed is not bad of the Panther, not bad at all i doubt i could circle it without it hitting the M10 or even counter with decent speed.
i guess the only advantge for M10 is the cheap 80 fuel it cost.
