And I thought when the Pgrens say "Capture point number 876641 captured" whenever they cap a point was a reference...
"I want to go to the Western Front, those Americans are always complaining about Pioneer spam."
It's "Those Americans are always complainaing about Pioneer SMELL."
Pioneers being combat engineers do everything from clearing battlefield obstacles, building defenses and establishing headquarters to being maintenance engineers for vehicles, grease-monkies.
Naturally if you do all that kind of work, you're going to stink something fierce.
Does the quote make more sense now?
Why in gods name would the Germans say "pioneer spam" when "spamming" is an internet slang term that has only recently (relatively speaking) cropped up?
That's the point. Pioneer spam was a favourite tactic for German commanders in COH. Hence the Easter egg label.
I think you're all mishearing and mistaking the quote.
"Ostfront ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hell...I'd give anything to fight the westerners. Those Americans are always complaining about pioneer spam."-Sounds like Panzer Grenadier.
Proof:http://youtu.be/MaF_dkuGLjE?t=24s
Edit:Fixed a bit of junk with the quote so it is exact
Proven wrong
I still think the audio is too butchered, sounds almost forced at the point you've indicated.
I'm convinced that they are saying "pioneer smell" it would just be silly to say "pioneer spam"
