M5 Quad vs. M3 AA vs. OKW Flak Track
Opinions? Which is your favorite? I think they all do their job pretty well, and all have something unique about them.

My favorite is the M5 because not only does it perform it's main role of mobile suppression bery well, but you can reinforce in the field.

Second favorite is M3, because it can also fire on the move, although it doesn't seem to suppress as fast. It is nice though that the 37 can take out a freakin' Luchs if you know what you are doing. Also when you put it in AA mode, any plane that flies over is intant toast.

Flak track is probably my least favorite. Not to say it is bad at all, all three are amazing in my opinion, but other that insanely fast suppression and infantry damage, it doesn't really do anything else. It does have smoke which is really nice, but I find them pretty easy to kill, since they don't really damage vehicles.

M5 - second to none.

With Overdrive you can just peak in and do a quick "drive by" for extra damage and suppression or to chase down retreating troops. Doing so with success gets you great scaling with the bigger reinforce aura, so you can keep savely in the back and support in the lategame.

It's also the only one of those you metioned that can reinforce in the field. A great synergy with Soivet T2. It also keeps your AT-guns, mortars and Maxims save from flanking.

"We felt the M5 was overperforming for its cost. This unit was actually doing its job, and causing Axis players to have to use their brains. We have removed its suppression ability, and its ability to let players reinforce in the field. We feel this will make a wider variety of strategies more favorable and force players to use combined arms."

okw flak op M3 aa good against aircraft limited though because it s knocked out easy. M5 qaud a good unit but needs to be able to reinforse.I play allied most of the time it is a lot more difficult than axis more micro management mainly with the yanks which takes time eta. Axis OP Mark 4 tanks op and on and on but a great game I enjoy it.

I used this thing since Beta and back then it didn't even do ♥♥♥♥ for damage. However it was still of great utility. I loved this thing from the start and that's going to stay true no matter what. That it's now somewhat of a meta thing, doesn't bother me.

They could make the damn thing 50 fuel and I'd still get it.

I like OKW Flak halftrack, It's a very potent weapon for defending. Put one inside a cap zone and no one dare to come near it until they have an AT gun, this way I can defend a wider area with a fewer troops.

right now m5 is the best by far considering its cost

usf one costs 75 fuel and delays your teching to get at same with the okw truck 55 fuel
m5 does not

edit: okw flak ht kills and pins infantry the fastest but needs to set up, usf one is kinda awkward with the way it fires. both will kill the okw flak ht 1v1 though

Ditto, the flak truck is a great glass cannon. I do sometimes lose them due to my stupidity, but when I play it right the thing can easily rack up 20-30 kills.

Now that the M5 Quad is crazily good, I wonder if we can have an accuracy buff back for the Ostwind.

Id very much like to see the Ostwind become fearsome to infantry again!

OKW flak is pretty awful atm due to its setup time, but it is great in a defensive position.
Butz Jul 27, 2015 @ 10:08pm
The USF and OKW flaktracks both require significantly more micro than the M5, however their AI and AA capabilities are better

TheM# and M5 can both wreck the OKW one.

It still can smoke escape, it doesn't necessarily have to engage either of those

the smoke escape is a vet 1 ability
You can get the M5 and M3 long before it hits vet 1
