CoH game set in Korea?

Has anyone else wondered what it would be like to have a CoH game based in Korea between Russia and China on one side and the US and Commonwealth on the other?

I had this thought as well this month, after trying out CoH2 at a gaming cafe. What would it be like to have a new CoH game based on the Korean War ('50-53)?

A lot of the goodies might be created for CoH already, as far as military hardware is concerned (main belligerents of the war being North Korea / China / Soviet -VS- South Korea / US / UK).

As a huge fan of the Korean conflict I would have to say it wouldn't work. For one thing Russia refused to act in korea, Stalin would only support Mao if the US invaded China.
That leaves us with China & North Korea vs. US & ROK.

Infantry

There were hardly any tactics used by the chinese aside from human wave attacks. They simply flooded and surrounded American lines.
There is no way to replicate this in a CoH game, which favors the use of cover and strategy.
The ROK forces also rarely did a lot of action, there were a few battles of great heroism shown by the Koreans, sure, but none that ultimately turned the tide, and they wouldn't have any way of being a unique army as they were mostly outfitted by the US.

While the Chinese used human wave tactics, the North Koreans actually used some tactics in the early war, Using t-34s to push past infantry lines to destroy artillery, since the US was completely downsized (and had no AT weapons, they killed T-34's by charging with pistols and hand grenades.) So it looks like they could be a viable option, until you get to vehicles.

Of course by the late war only China was really doing any work, which was sitting at the 38 parallel because neither side wanted to commit to world war 3, so there shouldn't be a North Korean faction for the same reason as why there is no french or Belgian faction in COH2

Vehicles

In the early war the communist forces had t-34s.
The NATO forces had none.
However once the Americans actually deployed their armor the communist forces no longer had any vehicles left. It wasn't even a competition, the t-34s just got absolutely murdered by shermans/pershings/chaffees/pattons. They had nothing that could stand to the American armor and this situation would be impossible to balance in-game.

Conclusion

It simply wouldn't be a balanced game for multiplayer, a singleplayer capaign sure, but it just wasn't a balanced war to begin with. The reason for the stalemate was because neither side was willing to commit, not because they were evenly matched.

I recommend reading the book "The Coldest Winter" if you want any more info on the Korean conflict, as it was really interesting to read about the political strains of both sides, and the brutal waste of life that was the Chinese human wave attacks.

Well.. South Korean soldiers did take the most casualty and South Koreans not of disrespect foreign soldiers :(
They of create memorial museum of American soldiers and UN soldiers who came to save of Korean freedom. Many Koreans to this date feel of great thanks to of foreigners who died for of them. Korean war veterans feel of proud of south Korea. South Korea used to be 4th poorest country to top 11th economy global power. South Korea used to recieve weapons now they create their own and even ships and tanks now they are top 7th strongest military power.
