There's a good point, to be sure but I believe that in certain mods there are already specialisations to allow for full auto rifles... that'd be fairly close to an AK, yes, I agree, the M4a1 could be an issue and maybe we'd have to live with something close, maybe something closer to an M16. I won't say there wouldn't be some odd things here and there but we've already learned to live with things like that in the game. Little things could slip by.
I am thinking more along the armour and major hardware rather than anything.
I know there's a single player FTP game out already, been and tried that, also, there are games in the pipeline such as "Rising Storm", just wondering/hoping that the game mechanics won't be as freaky as "Men of War: Viet Nam" - more hoping for CoH game mechanics with a Vietnam era (say 1965) background.
Cheers,
T.
You seems know nothing about AK-47 7.62
One of most inaccurate and poorly designed assault rifles to date. Initially made for soviet motorized/mechanized infantry in possible cold war battle in urban areas - so called house-to-house combat. Never intended to use in open area like fields. Though has one advantage over AK-74 5.45 due to heavy bullet has lower ricochet - the only reason soviets preferred it over AK-74 in afghanistan war 1979-1989.
Only complete idiot like vietnam or chinese commie would fire full auto with AK-47 as it only has 30 bullets magazine with low aimed firing distance, though there is possibility to attach RPK 7.62 (Kalashnikov LMG) magazine with 45 bullets (or just use RPK 7.62 instead of this travesty) as they compatible to each other but vietnamese and chinese most likely never guessed it was possible lol
While we appreciate your obvious knowledge of the capacities and performance characteristics of the AK 47 it was only an example, not the point of the post.
I was hoping to get some information from one of the devs of the game as to whether they might entertain the idea of providing elements of the Vietnam war era into the game to go with the mods that have already been created.
At present I am trying to crack a problem with using modding so I might be able to do something along those lines, then, in all probability, I will need in depth information to maintain the balance and playability.
Regards,
T
