Best PC setup to run @60fps?
Going to be upgrading my PC soon. Need to know what are the best cores (quad core 64bit) and graphics card(s) to use for maximum settings @60fps. Something reasonably priced; under $2k.

I understand there is some basic information on "recommended specs", but would like to know from anyone who actually has the game running at maximum, etc. at a great framerate. Thanks in advance

Edit: I would also like to run the game at a higher resolution, 2560x1440 and up. I'm not a fan of aliasing

I had a budget of 1500 and I started at a 1600 computer witrh 700 off or so. So I upgraded items brnging it back to my 1500 and I didnt want to spend extra on shipping I spent more on upgfrading the intel chip from an I5 to i7. Well worth the money and it has a nice warrenty. My power supply crapped out, in the first two weeks they gave me an option to ship the new out or send in my PC and do it for me. I sent my PC to them they fixed it up and everything was all good. You can also get warrenties on the parts inside the pc by registering them.

Thanks a lot, facciola007. That is probably the most helpful reply i've ever gotten in my 11 years on Steam.

Edit: Definately going with an i7 proc

o.0 crap im not suppose to be helpful on steam insert flame rage axis tears. ;p

Really its just finding the coupons then checkout codes from retailmenot to put extra coupons on top of all of it. It was like 50 bucks cheaper and they build it and you wont have to worry about messing something up.

I'm noticing Windows 10 is being installed in a lot of the newer rigs. That's a bummer in my honest opinion.

True but if you go through cyberpower and get to software and services you get this option.

one - FORMAT HARD DRIVE ONLY [-60]

Windows 7 Professional (64-bit Edition) [+31]

Windows 8
Windows 8.1 (64-bit Edition) [+0]
Windows 8.1 Pro (64-bit Edition) [+31]

Windows 10
Windows 10 Home (64-bit Edition)
Windows 10 Pro (64-bit Edition) [+31]

I bought mine before windows 10 released so I picked 7 over 8.

don't get an i7, it has very little gain over an i5 for gaming purposes.

anyway if you are somewhat knowledgable or willing to learn you can purchase the parts seperatly using pc partpicker and assemble something yourself for what usually ends up being a bit cheaper then getting a preassembled computer.
facciola007 Oct 21, 2015 @ 9:17pm
That ones sexy. But I learned as an after thought that my PC desk puts the tower away anyways.... Just get a can of air.

As logical as that is, i just don't have the time nor patience anymore to build one. My nerves are not in the greatest of condition. CoH 2 kinda helps as i don't have to push a lot of buttons, keys, etc.

Going with the i5 will save some funds. Thank you Kilopede

Guess i could make the Luxe work if i put an air purifier in the area. Just don't understand why the top of the tower is open. Idk, maybe the interior panel repels dust?

Edit: Just noticed the second tower case option. Really liking that Antec S10-G

Interesting, on the why choose open air vs normal. I havent really seen many open chassis before.

With those requirements you will not achieve them with mid-range cards. The only ones could are

Gtx 980
Gtx 980ti
Gtx titan x
Radeon r9 fury x

If i were you i ll be extra cautious about buying radeon gpuz, other than the top tier gpus the rest are rebranded gpus.

If those are above the budget, get a gtx 970 or r9290 (if stock still exist). You wouldnt get 60fps, as it gives about 40-50fps @ 1920x1080
