Serious lack of defensive structures for all factions
Its rediculous, only half the factions have a defensive building which is a hole in the ground. Yes it can get a MG, but for 60 munitions. then Russia just has walls of dirt and sand bags, then the OKW has sand bags and doctrinal emplacements.

The worst part is the only defense that can kill people within 5 minutes, is the OKWs doctrinal flak, and 1 use mines. Plus the flak cost twice as much and requires 10 or 25 fuel (forgot.)

So I purpose that MG bunkers and fighting positions stay the same, but we get more defensive buildings for all factions.

First off Russia really should get a constructable machine gun emplacement like at base. Also like in the old CoH, each faction should be able to contruct a 80 or 120 mm mortar emplacement, that can garrison 1 squad for defense. Also there should be field hospitals for soviets that are dug into the ground, its important to resupply defending troops on the field. Plus, at least light artillery/cannons that can do reasonable damage to armor and hurt infantry. There are lots of other things like long WW1 trenches, that can only be collapsed and destroyed by grenades and explosives.

Dig in, and pray mortars don't rain on your parade.

Anytime Russian players dig in, it just ends badly for them, The Soviets emphasized attack over defense. Therefore the faction is meant to be played agressively not defensively. If you'd like to play defensively, I'd suggest you play as Whermacht, and build trenches, machine gun positions, mortars and the lot. Soviets are not meant to be played on defense and it never works in their favor when they do. Simply adding structures for them to camp around would not help the faction play that way at all.

German Mortars love stationary targets and have the fastest firing rate in the game and the fastest veterancy path. At level 3 veterancy, they can get a mortar shell within 1-2 feet of their target every half a second.

Your kidding right? At the beginning of operation barbossa thats all the soviets did. Like seriously are you kidding me? Plus that's not even what my thread is about, its clearly about all around defenses for all factions. Also how would it not help them?

Don't be rediculous they don't even fire there rifles once every half second.

And that's part of the problem with this game in general. You're pigeonhole'd into playing one way for each army, with no adaptability or difference of playstyle available. It's not much of a "real time strategy game" when the only strategies available are "Rush" and "Overwhelm."

setting up MG, Anti tank gun, mortar/howitzer, barbed wire and tank trap (for extra defense, enter building, mines, sniper.) isn't this enough all around defense?

im kinda glad that this is not tower defense/campfest, we had "brit sim city" in CoH 1, thank you, thats enough... there is no real "feel well" zone here, you either have the initiative or you set yourself up for defeat

he is right, russia is not ment for defence. as you can see by just watching a ww2 film or really look at russia in world war 2. you will see the only times they defended was, yes in barbossa and in stalingrad, other then that look at other battles such as kursk berlin ect. they never defended they just kept going while germany is both defence and attack they push the enemy back while leaveing themselves guarded from flanking attacks and getting cut off, so defence bunkers for russia would just be a waist of time.

I think the amount of defensive structures is fine, since it promotes different play styles for the factions instead of limiting them.

so i guess no one played coh1 on here which had defencive structers for all factions and had no problems -_- and imo the factions shoud of been reversed with russians defensive and germans offensive (just look at what the russians did at kursk and its fortifications)

I want to see the Flak 88 inplacement for the OKW and the Wehrmacht bunkers that could be buit. also think the russians need to build mg nests as well

Please don't add too many defensive structures. We don't need Sim City in COH2 like some of the mods of COH.

I only had to read the title of the post to realize I'm against it. None of the factions need more options to dig in and turtle. I can only imagine how that would seriously affect 1v1's in a maner the game mode would die.
