It is glitch. Wow you did all that because of bug in the game? Wow
Honestly: Encountering a bug after roughly 10 minutes of play time, that doesn't let me progress through the tutorial in a game of this magnitude (long lifetime, great reviews, a bit of controversy regarding the ingame shop) didn't give me much hope... I thought the problem was on my end, somehow related to PhysX calculations or the like... And yes of course I skip the tutorial and just move on... But seeing as this bug exists at all makes me anxious to find more game stopping bugs in the Single Player campaign and I am really thinking about getting a refund.
Developers: You should really be on this. I can't think of many things that deter a newcomer from your game faster than a broken TUTORIAL! The only things I can think of that top of my head, that could cause this bug are:
- I'm using Windows 10 and the game is somehow not happy with that (unlikely i guess)
- My slight overclock on the CPU is somehow producing a wrong calculation that results in the bridge not being destroyed and therefor failing the trigger in the script to activate (but my CPU is stable in all other games, no crashes, has been overclocked for nearly 6 months now and I ran prime95 on all cores for 4 hours without errors)
- You made some change in one of the patches to the way artillery and bridges interact and now the game doesn't recognize the bridge should be broken OR somebody set a flag to make the bridge unbreakable by accident (then it should be reproducable and anybody on the recent version of the game files should be unable to complete the tutorial)
My rig:
AMD Fx-6300 overclocked @ 4GHz, 1.2V (Vishera)
MSI 970a-G43 with slightly overclocked FSB
Gigabyte Radeon 270x Windforce3x OC (1100MHz/1400MHz)
2x 4GB Corsair RAM (slightly OCed timings)
Running a relatively fresh install of Windows 10 (64 bit)
no anti-Virus software running
At the time of testing I only had the following "extra" apps running:
- Razer Synapse
- Steam
- Skype
- D3D Overrider V2.0.1
- Nacon Mouse Driver Utility
My guess is that the change to building health (which was some time ago) affected the bridges health as well. Some mission are near impossible now due to this, especially the rebalanced units.
Dunno if that is the issue you are having though.
Pretty similar setup here:
FX 6350 4.2 (1.3625)
GTX 680 (1150/6010)
990FXA-UD3 Rev 1.1
4x4gb Corsair V
IMHO they should have handled it like many other RTS games (for example StarCraft2) did; by making the changes only affect multiplayer and keeping the "unbalanced" units in the campaign as is (so as not to screw with the balance of the campaign)
Beside topic a bit: Seeing as your rig is so similar, are you playing with highest settings? and if so do you have 40+ fps constantly?
So far I put everything on max, except AA (put that down to low) and am getting my 35ish min fps in campaign at least.
Everything max and aa set to low, though I am playing with 1920x1200 resolution. Using driver 361.43

It turns out my slight overclock really did mess with this game, even though a full 10 hour stress test with prime95 didn't produce any problems.
After turning every OC setting to stock again in my UEFI the tutorial went flawlessly. Just to test it I OC'ed a little bit after that (turned up the FSB from 200 to 215) and went with some stricter DRAM timings and lo: it still worked.
My only conclusion would be that my overclock WAS stable when all 6 cores were used and that I had a bit of a problem because I left TurboCore on and that might have brought the clocks up too much in this game (which I assume doesn't use all 6 cores, more like 4 max...)
Well long story short: fixed, can be closed!
Long live Relic...where players needs to fix their game themselves....
In first part attack enemy in way told , then only take cover behind truck , if you take cover behind tree trunks too soon then enemy will not spawn.
Then when you meet up with reinforcements at bridge you must not try to cross bridge before you have seen bridge getting blown up , then go to other bridge and continue to do as game tells you.
Doing so I played the tutorial more times without fail.
Amazing, where developers laziness punish player's creativity...
The bridge was destroyed on the 3rd hit!
But now, you can play the game :)
Welcome to COH2, by the way ^)^
