what is the differnece between the base CoH2 and British forces?

They seem to be two different standalone games so im confused about why its called CoH2 British forces

You can only play skirmish/multiplayer mode and only as the British if you buy British Forces.
For the base game, you can play the Soviet Campaign and skirmish/multiplayer as Soviet and Wermacht Ostheer.

British forces is entirely a single faction to play multiplayer skirmish vs ai or players.
Coh2 is the standard game with a campaign and soviet/wehrmacht factions

Standalone things there:

• Base game - SSSR & German factions, SSSR campaign, Theathre of war Germany + SSSR (posibility to buy 3 more DLC with ToW)
  
• Ardenes assault - USA campaign simillar to total war and harder than original one with no prepared missions
  
• Western front armies - USA + West German factions
  
• possibility to buy separately WFA (just one single faction)
  
• British forces - british faction for MP or co-op (skirmish)
  
  Every faction have boughtable (or obtainable) commanders, skins etc.
