I agree, or if they don't want to ban their players, maybe they could adopt Dota 2's penalty where you get put in a low priority pool, where you only play with other players who abandoned games. That would be interesting to see. And if they keep leaving, the cycle repeats!
Doesn't this game use some kind of rank based matchmaking? In that case I don't think it wouldn't be a good solution to demote people for dropping from games. Maybe put a cooldown on war spoils (even though they get none from games they leave)?
It actually does, everytime you drop you lower your Elo, which is your skill level. SO you get placed lower and lower on the ladder. The games matchmaking attempts to match players with similar elos to get a "fair" competitive game.
Oh, I didn't know about that, thought the game pitched players of the same profile rank against each other. Well, in that case a demotion wouldn't really matter at all.
But then people who deliberately drop from games get to play with less experienced players in addition to not recieving a penalty for dropping in the first place. Bummer.
They just stop playing and move to another game. This translate to smaller player base and longer wait time until the game is dead. A vicious cycle.
Team mulitplayer is the problem. If it not quiter than it will be afk and so on. You can't have fun in a small team. Lots of issues can't be fix for small public pick up team games. I stick with 1v1 and deathmatch/free for all.
If they think they have lost and its over then they should vote for surrender. If the rest of the team disagrees they can stick around and learn something and try and win.
I have seen lately, they don't quit, they just retreat the whole army and stop playing.
AFK is why we need a vote kick.
OR at the very least, two ques casual which has no quit penalty and a competive which does.
Small public team games IS the problem. In 4v4, if one of your teammate leave, suck, afk, etc that's 25% less chance of winning the game right? Mount and Blade Warband have 100v100 public team game. If one afk that only 1% and chances are your enemy with the same level of problem players as you do. So it all even out when on large team.
The best way to solve the problem is not to play small public pickup team games. I stop playing small PUG team games a while back because I experience the same level of frustration as you guys do. There is no good fix and all the "fixes" will lead to the game death before it time.
Like Super pointed out there is no way to stop quitters. No easy fix.
the people who bail regularly arnt in the game for the long run, Its just flavor of the month. We had 2-4g of people before the WF expansion then we jumped to 12g and its dwindling down as people tire. I figure most quitter are in that group, but I may be wrong
