Error code 183
This started happening a week ago. The problem is just getting worse now. Cant even start a game with my friend. RAM spikes to 3.5 gbs used and then I get this wretched error. I have 32 gigs of ram so my comp isnt the issue. My friend has only 8 and get this error far far less. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Do you restart the game after every match? It seems the game has severe memory leaks. Also, I have to ask ... you are on a 64 bit version of Windows, right?

I wasnt even making it into games or finishing before it ctd'd. Yep 64. I was actually worried that somehow I installed the 32 bit version. 33gbs of ram with another 50 in the page file. Ran in compatibility mode. Graphics up and down. I can max out everything with 100fps+ and a low of 80 but this thing still crashes. When I've been able to finish I'll restart every match. Its installed on an ssd btw. I doubt that has anything to do with it

Well, done good ol' checklist?

Verify integrity first of all, since CoH2 randomly does mess up.

Uninstall game and videodriver, use a driver cleaner.
Reinstall.
Have 32GB here myself, and an older GTX Titan X, have no issues as long as I restart every game.

Better startup is
-refresh 100 -nomovies -window -fullwindow -forceactive
OP also has 100, outside of that the only change is -forceactive

(everyone should use this startup line btw, of course change the refresh to what your monitor can do)

If your monitor refresh rate is higher than 144hz;
-refresh 144
must be used or the game will fail to start, it doesn't matter if you can't actually achieve 144FPS or more.

Oh really? The game simply dies if it's over 144? Jesus, this game engine is a mess

The game will also fail to start, fail to play audio or become unstable if you set audio playback to anything above 32 bit @ 192kHz (even though such audio quality above 24 bit @ 192kHz is hardly ever used, it's nice to not have to change it to avoid incompatibility issues).

Yeah, I use FX8 studio speakers, 24@96000
Really, anything above that is placebo. As a VERY hardcore audiophile that uses studio-speakers for gaming, going from 96000 to 192000 is VERY deminishing return, if even possible to hear difference at all.

Thanks guys. I'll try all this and see if it helps. Absolutely insane to have to do all this

Yeah dude. I looked on their forums. They said 3 years ago a fix was coming. Then radio silence. I used razor booster but I dont think the problem is my comp running out of ram

So far so good. The set launch options mustve helped a lot. Not one error 183 yet
The Iron Duke Feb 13, 2020 @ 9:58pm
Aaaaaand 40 mins in. Spearhead. 2v2 first game. Boom. Error 183
The Iron Duke Feb 14, 2020 @ 12:46pm
I'll reinstall the drivers. The fps isnt the problem though. Itll run 100+ and then boom. 183. 2 days ago was the last time I trimmed my ssd

Will do! Thanks for all the thoughts guys. Is physics worth being on high? One guy on a different forum said to run 1920 x 1080 then use nvidia to smooth everything
I had the same problem with COH2 on win7 and recently with win10 (after upgrade win7->10). The solution is :

-Open your command dos in administrator mode to get the access to c:\windows\system32 ;

- Type this command BCDEDIT /Set IncreaseUserVa 3072 (with win7 it's was the good setting for me).

if you have win10, at first, i used this command and it did not work. So i change the value by 2048 (for 6 G ram) and it's good. There must be a link with how many RAM you get.

- Enter and you should have the message "change managed"

- Close and restart your PC.

Then launch the game.

I had some bugs first (when i looked for the right setting) but it works now.

I hope it will help some of you to solve this bug.
