This is not a strategy game.
This is not a strategy game...

PLEASE only read if you are not a fanboy and can actually handle some criticism seeing things objectively, I don't need arcade CoH2 players who feel personally attacked because someone criticises their favourite game as this is childish and pointless.

I mastered many actual strategy games very effectively, such as Wargame: Red Dragon, Steel Division, World in Conflict, Sudden Strike 1-4, Blitzkrieg 1-3, Men of war and so on and on and on....

But THIS relies way too much on HP bars, unit spam and using OP units against weak units instead of offering to use actual strategic moves such as performing an effective flank, encircling your enemies and weakining your enemies with longitudinal air raids, mortar fire and so on... this game is way too rushy and certain factions get way too far by having " just better units " while standing right next to each other and shooting at each other like in a very bad 1970s hollywood war movie.

I get that there are die hard fanboys on here who love the game to death and I know that the game has quite decent overall reviews, but from what I can see, mainly by people who do not understand what a realistic strategy game is about nor how it is supposed to be built and structured.

I like the idea of CoH2, I like the effects, controls, choice of units and even the idea with the commanders is quite nice to be honest, but the whole " balancing " that is going on while certain factiosn such as the OKW or Wehrmacht are still overly powerful in areas where they shouldn't is just ridiculous.

This game feels like it was made for 14 years old teenagers who have never touched a real strategy game in their life but want to feel like they play a strategy game.

PS: CoH1 was much better. This is just made for the masses, for the broad and large audience that also comes from CoD, CS:GO and other games designed for teenagers who have no patience and would be too overwhelmed with actual strategies.

Cheers, I won't even bother responding to the toxic replies to come, I just wanted to share my experience with this game without dropping a negative review straight away.

- Battlefield 5 is a worse version of Hello Kitty Island adventures.
- Why are you posting on COH2 forums and not playing COH1 ?

I don't go posting on C&C forums saying COH1 is better.

Haha, it was obvious that you are the first who responds. But I am surprised that you as an adult feel personally offended by someone criticising a game you play...maybe you should spend less time playing ?

But I take the time to respond:

- Yeah agreed.

- Because it was long ago and I am not interested in playing a more or less (probably by now) dead game.

And also..yeah C&C is a different game while COH1 is the predecessor of this game, did this not occur to you ?

PS: How many hours do I need according to you ? The issues I have stated can be noticed by playing only an hour or two already, genius.

Here, let me help you :
Go there, on their forums, and tell them that it isn't as good as COH1
and should have exclusively been made to please you.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1112890/Calico/

BTW, Ipad apple made a tablet remake of COH1.
Why don't you go on their forums?
Tell them it's not like the original COH1 :D

For some reason I feel sorry for you.

I wish you all the best and hope you are going to make something out of your life (and yes, LIFE is not CoH2 or steam).

Actually, I was saying at least you didn't go play 10,000 hrs and THEN say it was a horrible game. At least your rant is consistent :)

But I don't get it...

If you don't like something, just don't play it.

!
Wow, why 553 posts of forever-changing names trashing every single game?
"I would not recommend anyone wasting time on watching youtube videos...best is to jump right in and just play the game over and over again, maybe reflect on what went wrong a few times.
This game is not rocket science nor are most games."

Don't you have anything better to do with your life?

Sounds like someone got frustrated with the game and wanted to vent.
We've all been there, its cool. not hating.

Yeah also, but the things I have said I have really considered negative and not very much the attributes of a good strategy game.

Play a game like World in Conflict and you will know what I mean.

Played it, every major strategy since Herzog Zwei.

a genuinely good strategy game is something like Steel Division...i bloody love that for a more realistic war, its brutally tough and multiplayer is chaos. Coh2 has its nuances is still alive and played daily by thousands 7 years on, it has its own little corner in the RTS world and is critically acclaimed for a reason.

But i gotta admit your argument isn't so much about tactics, its about balancing, and if i may...you made little reasoning for your arguments.

Ever Mortar smoked an AT to block LOS whilst you pushed in a Flak half track to push off an Mg Locking down a position to allow your inf to cap a point and pressure Said AT then flanking your panther with pio's to detect hidden mines to take out Su-85's whilst getting that cheeky puma right around back for the Katyusha's?

if that's not tactical...i don't know what is...i think its much more tactical and visceral then. lets say Hiding a AT and troops in a thicket of woods trained on a kill zone whilst you let the AI auto counter barrage everything from 8km away.

just saying, your trash is another's fortune.

I can apply OP's logic to conclude starcraft and most of RTS games are not strategy games.

Oh we are going back to CoH1 nostalgia trip. Yes I too love the Piospam against British.

I got the same vibe as you in the top post based on this:

This is a "bird that fly for so long that they forget how to land" case to me.

Wargame: Red Dragon, Steel Division, World in Conflict, Sudden Strike 1-4.
Those games are what I'd call "Global strategy game". They control units more in global scale rather than battlefield one. It's more like board game made to flow in real time which I'm not a fan of.

Lol this thread, someone is off his meds again.

Not only delirious, but also delusional.
