Soviet Scout Sniper

I know I'm a compstomp noob but what exactly is the point of scout snipers beyond infiltrating with camo and holding fire pretty much nonstop just to provide sight for mortars or any other unit?
They drop one model, and are pretty much forced to retreat after that shot since they get their frail one man squad wiped in seconds if they aren't in a building. This wouldn't be a big issue if they weren't also more manpower than penals.

I haven't found a use beyond spotting, or a discussion about them since around 2018 in the search.

What is a +1?
Useless on its own, op when supporting something.

Charging mg w con/penals? Shoot the mg gunner. Yes you choose who you kill. Shoot lmg guy on squad of grenadier. Set up traps. You name it.

On average mine have 66+ kills.

So, yea.
They're good.

Wait I can specifically pick the gunner? That would cause another model to grab the MG and interupt fire then? I would assume same for AT guns or mortars.
I'm using them backwards then if I use sniper to scout for my AT crews and infantry then?

But first you need to learn to
not lose sniper.

Despite huge sight range, they shoot further than they see. So, if other units spot for them...

that and theyre better used against units like sturmpioneers and grenadiers since those squads have fewer models compared to others. A wher player wont be able to crew a team weapon witout losing a gren squad if you pop just one model.

But to be fair I think that Soviet Scout Sniper Squad should be back in a two man squad again, even if this means that they will automatic win a sniper duel with a Sharpschütze.

You use them to drop enemy soldiers from a good distance away with basically 100% reliability. They absolutely do not have to retreat every time they took a shot, if you put something in between them and their targets. Cover them with other units and take popshots from relative safety. That will force the enemy to come to you and they will have to do so with already dimished squads.

Rifle was mosin w 4 bullets. Slow
Now svt40 w 10 bullets fast.

Old sniper 40+60 health.
Stealth only if not moving.
Usually 1 model was out of cover.
Easily wiped by mortar. Rifle nade.
Likes to shoot at tanks.

New sniper 82 health.
Invis 2 secs out of steath.
Can run cover to cover.
Aim shoot faster. More ammo.

Also wehr could kill entire squad using explosive shot+regular shot.
But this took skill.

Soviet sniper = Bleed low model Ost scouts and force him to retreat + make his mg cry , OKW searching alt + f4 since he can\'t get the sniper from the endless waves of cons = game end before start.

Okw sniper.

USA has Pathfinders.
USA snipers.
