Soviet Engineers
Are the worst by far. To go along conscripts that are also the worst combat infantry early game. (based on combat, and in my experience)

I'm just curious, why not give Soviet Engineers better weapons? It seems like they're the only faction who's engineers use the same weapons.

Sometimes, the game doesn't make much sense to me. Penals getting better guns than conscripts and engineers?

I guess I'm just proposing the idea of giving engineers some form of combat ability, maybe PPSHs or SVTs. To have engineers that can actually...do stuff. (Because Both Wehr engineers and OKW engineers can beat Conscripts)

Based on history, maybe

Keep in mind that they're also the cheapest unit in the game. They're also a very effective unit with a flamer (more effective than Pioneers because Mosins are better at max range of the flamethrower) and they become a very durable flamethrower squad when paired with merging conscripts. Their mines are also neat and trip wire flares are underrated.

They have powerfull mine and flamethrower and you can use them as bait and they are cheap

I don't think the history card can really be played in Coh. There's just too many instances otherwise.

99% battles were 250 Top vet
Tigers vs 1 T34.

That's how Germany won the war.

Penals are penal battalion troops. There's a difference between those and the guys from the army-level penal companies. The independent penal battalions were where the Soviets put highly-trained officers and NCOs that had committed an offense of some sort. These were men that the state had already invested a great deal of resources and effort into, and as such using them as mere hard labor or cannonfodder would have been wasteful. Instead they were actually rather lavishly equipped and then used for extremely risky/near suicidal missions of high importance; first wave securing the other bank in a river crossing and similar tasks are a good example. Think of them as more akin to a larger-scale soviet counterpart of the Dirty Dozen, and less as Enemy at the Gates clichés.

They are the cheapest while having the longest range weapons for an engineer, contested only by the sturmpioneers. This makes them pretty spammable and easier to vet up as they don't have to close in to grind EXP unlike other unupgraded engineers. They possess the highest repair rate I believe (someone feel free to correct me on this) while having the fearsome demo charge. Granted, they are the least flexible, due to how eastern faction engineers work and lack of doctrine upgraded compared to every other engineer.

Honestly, I prefer them over engineers for the price and ease of use.

Combat engineers are actually really good. Their mosins are more accurate than conscripts' mosins so you can keep them further away. Plus the flamethrower and mine spam will yield them loads of kills too. Way better than Ostheer pioneers in my opinion who apparently shoot airsoft rounds.
170 mp
Created nearly instantly
You can cap multiple points when ostheer player have to just crawl with his hmg
They ACTUALLY can fend off from some garbage infantry when being behind the cover

They are cheap glasscannons, another thing that makes me laugh, when ppl saying that sov are bad XD

The reason why that is is in your thread name.

CAN CONFIRM ABOUT PIONEERS. Like what happened to MP40? if its on Pios, they barely do any jack against Conscript. If its MG crew's or Mortar or AT-crew,its complete useless while Russian AT Crew can actually hurt enemy's infantry

I wouldn't exactly say soviet teams are any better. Maybe the RNG chance of hitting is higher because of more models but I haven't seen anything noticeable.
