Burning tank crews with a flamer?
Would be a cool idea to have in the next title. Since it was a method to deal with tanks when possbile. This would make it possible to either take the tank since it would be abandoned or kill it off entirely since it can catch on fire. It will only be effective when the crew is the most vulnerable of positions such as a engine damaged tank or completely immobile. So what do you guys think?

Ehh, think that would be a bit too OP. You could however have a debuff to the speed/reload. Might not kill them off but it sure would get hot in there, not exactly what you want when you have to work in a cramped poorly ventilated space.

Maybe if it was an ability that added a debuff like button

Not a good idea in general imo, since a dedicated AI upgrade (cover + garrisons) should under no condition turn into a powerful AT upgrade as well.

Also flamethrowers are unevenly distributed across the factions. Soviets and Wehr have them by default, while OKW, USF and UKF have them only on doctrines. Adding such a powerful mechanic to them wouldn't be fair.

Obviously it will scale differently depending on the tank, later tier mediums and heavies will have a harder time to get decrewed by the flamer but for the early tier stuff it can be more likely since their lightly armored.

Maybe it should only effect open top vehicles like a Kubel or a SU-76

Codename Panzers Phase I and II have this game mechanic. In order to "convince" the vehicle crew to leave their vehicle, you have to heat up the vehicle with Flamethrower Infantry or Tanks or enough Molotovs until the Heat gauge is red.

It is a nice feature and can be quite handy if you loose a Tank and the crew survived it but it is rather timeconsuming. And if I remember correct, you can´t take captured vehicles into the next mission.

then that would only really affect allied armored units since the vast majority of open top vehicles reside with them in this game.

I thought Kubel already takes damage from flamethrowers?
