AT rifle
does equiping a penal squad with a PTRD effect how well they can fight infantry?

They were hitting infantry like normal rifles but it was too dam OP.

Penals = PzGrenadiers.
6 men - 4 men
Strong grenade.
6x SVT40 vs 4x STG44
Upgrade AT = lose 50% Anti Infantry
2 out of 6 is not 50%. And penals are not Panzer Grenadiers, they're cheaper, stronger and more durable. Also available earlier on.
they are not stronger nor durable. Fricking large squad debuff erases 1-2 models with couple of volleys. Unless you are on defensive position(aka green cover) and pgrens(or likes) trying to assault. Penals may be considered as sturmpios. Though penals has better utility options.

it might be that on a higher vet it doesnt make a difference because its like + 70% accuracy or something?
No, they have totally different weapon profiles for the 2 rifles. the Penal PTRS is literally worse, worse accuracy, and worse fire rate

And no they werent hitting like normal rifles, they were hitting for the same damage they do to tanks (which was making them pretty much a sniper, because they were one shotting models) which is why PTRS blobs were cancer

Yes but Allied weapons cannot be stronger than Germans. As CoH balance dictates Axis must have the upper hand in all situations
Sounds like average allytards butthurt.

And no they werent hitting like normal rifles, they were hitting for the same damage they do to tanks (which was making them pretty much a sniper, because they were one shotting models) which is why PTRS blobs were cancer
Not talking about damage, talking about accuracy here. Standing still guards still hit hard with their PTRS. I dont think penals can do that.

well the germans wernt ameturs they where a professonal fighting force and they fought hard to keep what they took

Not sure why the game needed that many "versions" of the PTRS and that many squads to be able to equip them anyways.

uuuhhh what? theres only 1 type of PTRD and the PTRS is a different gun mate

They are called ptrs in game but are bolt rifles like the ptrd and there are three profiles for the weapon.
There are the conscipt and penal ptrs which are equal statwise and there are the guards ptrs which do more damage and have a better accuracy.
