for the rifleman blob, best thing to do is spam mainline infantry yourself to survive until you get stuka, then try to wipe his blob before he wipes yours..
- An HMG can help at any time of the game: MG34 may suck, but it gets the job done.
- Luches can be game changing if you're able to get one out early enough, all while being aware of which building USF is going
- Though i don't see it often, flak half track is very useful, though be wary of AT guns
- Flame nades may not be the best option, but predicting them can be useful as the damage stacks up
- Depending on which commander you have, the grenade spam can be very useful against any blob on volk
Considering all of that (i'm sure there's more), be wary of USF manpower costs, like if s/he's focusing manpower on the blob while not getting another building or building any AT, or how any casuality for their blob builds up manpower losses.
For Katyushas, this may sound stupid, but as Osteer, i usually run around points with a panzershrek squad destroying caches if i control all the fuel points which would usually prevent the spam of vehicles.
Though as i do for all factions, i hide a vehicle in the back near the enemy's flank and only come out when a katyusha fires. For Osteer a scout car can suffice, while for OKW, i find it that a volk can just faust it and easily destroy it with rifles/stgs.
Such masses means it's a large teamgame, right? Those always devolve into artillery and spam fests unless you coordinate with your mates. Tactics and timings don't mean ♥♥♥♥ in those modes unless you manage to get your entire team to pull them off.
So how do you avoid and counter the kind of stuff you list? Team coordination. Without that you might as well just do the same and sit on your ass and bombard eachother with indirect fire, rolling the dice.
hmm interesting i always choose to retreat when katyusha barage lands on my men but almost always they still run into the barrage and get wiped, am gonna try your suggestion of not retreating and see how that works
