The M26 Pershing is a medium tank.
I get they're trying to give the USF a special unit equivalent to the Tiger or IS but in reality the M26 was a medium tank not a heavy tank. The closest the allies fielded were the super Pershing or M4A3E2.

It has been classified as a medium tank after may 1946, before that, it was heavy tank.

Still, changing it to medium tank will not change anything.

Are you new codguy or something? :emofdr:

It was never classified as a heavy tank. The only US heavy tank to ever be formally adopted was the M103.

im pretty sure we've had this thread before and it ended with it getting locked
but its put into the game as a heavy tank whether or not it was in real life
I mean from what I can tell it had rather similar armor to the tiger 1 which is the heavy tank wher gets and in game it also has similar armor stats, so its just a heavy tank for balance, otherwise you'd have to nerf it if you wanted to be able to field several of them

The Pershing has way better armor than a Tiger I irl. Cause the Nazis had really mediocre tanks.

then why should it be classified in the game as a medium if the tiger isnt?
it is just put in like that for balance

It was a heavy tank and in Korean War it was reclassified as Medium tank along with M46 Patton.
For armor wise, yeah. It'a armor designed to witstand Panther and Tiger shells at medium range.

Yes someone incorrected reffered to the M26 as heavy tank therefore it's a heavy tank.

If i call a Whale a fish does that mean a Whale is suddenly a fish?

Tiger 1 was medium tank ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Still I don't know why changing pershing from heavy to medium tank is really that important in coh 2 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
OP, you so full of sh!t.

"The M26 Pershing was a heavy tank/medium tank of the United States Army."

For someone who behaves so anally, you sure play fast and loose with facts.

OP, you seem to engage in pointless sophistry and overall disingenuousness frequently, here and the SD44 forum.....if I were to look at other WWII games on steam, will I find your intellectually dishonest posts on all their forums?

It was classified as a heavy tank to boost troop morale, but soon after the war it was changed to medium once they started considering the usage of the T32.

:steambored: Wikipedia as a source. two sentences with massive errors in them. Heck it even gets the story wrong since like 6 other countries and the USMC also adopted it. Please tell me how the M26 came about from the T20 tank program which was started in 1942 to develop a medium tank to replace the M4 Medium tank.

Lol that would be something. Give the USF a real heavy tank. Lighter than a Tiger, more firepower and armor than a king tiger and it moves under its own power with ease. The US already has better tanks on the European continent than the Nazis did. Imagine what would happen if it was American turf.

BTW the M26 was never called heavy tank, just a medium tank as it was designed as part of the T20 Medium tank series to replace the M4 Medium tank.
