US Grenades = Squad Instawipe
How am I supposed to move out of a grenade that has less than a second fuse time?

Micro

Some grenades have no fuse, some have higher damage, some don't even require tech or throw 5 grenades at the same time. Just watch for the slow cinematic animation of the Riflemen pulling the pin, tossing the grenade, the grenade falling and then finally exploding. It's very easy to dodge it, even inside of houses, you can easily jump out of the house and then jump right back in.

1.2 seconds or wipe. Yes, micro is definitely required and it is possible to dodge, but I still believe it's poorly balanced to be so severly punished if you don't pay attention for 1.2 seconds. A lot of damage, sure. But wipe? No, that's excessive.

That's not true. As Outsider said there is more to it than a simple timer. It's not that you aren't paying attention for 1.2 seconds, it's that you fail to prepare yourself for the eventuallity that a grenade will be used in a mid range engagement with mainline infantry.
yeah if your clumped on yellow cover and the enemy is within nade throwing range they are going to use their grenade prob. this is especilly important to note vs osteer and rifle nades and knowing when they will use them

It usually just takes a little bit of movement/dodging to negate the grenades full damage impact. It isn't really broken, unless your blind or have the reaction time of a 90 year old. If you're in green cover, you'll just take plenty of damange but won't get wiped instantly.

edit: fyi Grenadier rifle grenades and gammon bombs also insta-wipe.

Axis units are so fragile that is unforgiving. Axis granades dont do as much damage than allied ones. This game is broken is so many ways. And no matter how much evidence you can gather, there is always be an allied noob to say otherwise

Teching to grenades for USF costs almost as much as OKW's T1 tech cost, its friggen absurd. If you see USF has teched to grenades you should be happy because they probably don't have the weapon rack unlocked and their teching is behind and are vulnerable to a light vehicle rush.

seems realistic considering that the US frag grenades had a 4 second fuse iirc

That does make sense, it's exactly what I'm looking for in terms of balance. Here's a stupid question though, how can I tell if USF has teched for grenades?

depends on how much you are spamming, blobing or using mgs to fix positions. For example when i see more than one mg and possible garrison i just tech up nades to take that challenge

nades have been so op in this game. I wonder if the devs even play it

Usually you begin moving as soon as it is thrown, not when it is thrown.

Try to pay attention to infantry beginning their throwing animations and begin moving already there.
