Subscriptions not downloading for COH2 (company of heroes 2)?

For those of you who are having difficulties downloading all those subs to a new hard drive here is a possible solution that worked for me. It is SUPER simple.

So, story time!

I had to get my computer fixed. Unfortunately it had to be wiped clean and I lost all of my computer files - including games (steam). After downloading/installing my game I saw that none of my subscriptions were there! No maps, no decals, nothing. I checked on my workshop page where I had dozens of subs and they showed I was still subscribed. So now what?

I went online and there were tonnes of possible suggestions:
1) changing the permissions on your folders in steam
2) deleting files and verifying cache integrity
3) un-install steam and redownload the applications
4) and so on and so on

None of these suggestions were working and I was getting very frustrated.

I loaded up COH2 went to the mod section (like I had done many times before) and clicked the "REFRESH" button on the top right corner of the game. I waited a minute or two and it started downloading the subs very quickly without problems!

I know that sounds simple but I didn't find any help online and was running out of ideas. Glad I stumpled on it by chance.

they didnt add too many factions because then it would be too much work like do you even realize how distinct each faction is from one another

P.S. Just joking about the livestock my friend...
Tried it just now and it repopulated my subscription list with latest subs. Tried the refresh and when the refresh button turned from red to black I restarted the game. No luck... BUT... here's my thinking, it's a big list so I'm going to set it to run overnight because I have c****y rural internet. Other than that it's got to be a share (.dll) file that lets the game read the workshop list so I'm going to see if I can track that down.
