First you put your M3 Scout car to bait them into turning.
It's fast speed will force the AT gun to turn forever
Then your tank army can finish the AT gun.
That's why it's a dilemma
The AT guns need to be backed up with something mobile, like infantry with panzershrecks or an anti-tank vehicle, or a machine gun to cover it from infantry attacks, so on and so forth.
If something happened to you in-game, take a look at your unit roster and figure out what you can invest in next time, to defend against such a scenario, or even change up your tactics a little.
Many thanks for the tip, I'm going to give your suggestions a test tomorrow.
I am a renowned complainer about mechanics I find distasteful.
Of course I don't have a lot of hours in this game, I've only recently decided to give it another chance after a rather poor experience what with the transition from CoH 1 to this.
I understand why you'd talk down to me and say l2p, it is rather gratifying and is a clever way to dodge being helpful or offering your own opinion on the mechanic.
A valid and reasonable point, but some action on the part of the AT gun rather than no action at all is better says I.
Still though, you are right - it can be abused like that, you are right.
My flimsy counter is as follows - in an actual battle, wouldn't an AT crew turn and fire if being fired upon outside of their cone of fire and were not distractionary (probably not a word) tactics used during the war?
At any rate, you make a good point and I appreciate you pointing it out.
There are a lot of explaning for this
1. the loader and gunner think another 2 persons will be someone guarding them outside the cone
2. It's a game.
If it's like real life
AT gun would have range of like 1 Km but in game it's just about 50 meters
Tank would wreck AT gun with a cannon because of it's large size but instead attack crew.
AT gun couldn't be push by 2 person at the same speed of infantry running
They also could not carry shells without truck or halftracks
They would also have at gun as a cover but no. it's just a thin air
AT gun would 1 shot any tank.
List goes on.
