Report a translation problem
The problem of course is that it's designed to counter many threats, so you got it being mildly effective against panzerwerfers, but extremely effective against everything from bunkers to mortars.
Personally I think they should have kept the two firing toggles they had prior to how it is now: you had two toggles, heavy shells for good damage but short range, and light shells for long range but less damage, and less accurate. You need to micro- a little bit more- and it has straightforward pros and cons. Worst case scenario you simply build two pits to toggle both. At least then you have to build two pits to be effective rather than one.
More range than Sniper, JUST WTF
Mortars fire further than sniper yes.
I just use pak40 to kill it
Devs, please remove the allies faction and save yourself some time, continually having to nerf said faction.
I suggested buffing all axis.
Deleting all axis factions.
Bam. Balance
As for range:
Come on, use brains! It's STATIONARY. If big, expensive object that can't MOVE will also have less range and damage then cheaper and mobile things, WHERE IS POINT in building it?
