> Elefant has the better Cannon.
Elefant is the tool to win 3vs3 and 4vs4 matches where you need to tear down allies tanks for good.
Tiger I like KT, is good for area denial, against all targets.
Both of them has little or no use in offensive manner.
In 4vs4 one player should always have either elefant or jagdtiger.
Calibre of gun isn't relevantn neither historically nor in this game, the Panther's 75mm is far more effective than Panzer4's, and certainly StuG E's; all three are 75mm calibre. Fun fact the 75mm PzGr 39 shell they used were identical, but the casings were different so you can't just stick any 75mm shell into any 75mm gun. Length, both in terms of barrel and shell, mattered more than calibre, which was why the Germans relied on 37mm and 50mm more than 75mm during the early war years.
Later on, the British 17pdr at 76.5mm was just as effective as Tiger's 88mm- munitions, velocity and barrel length determined effectiveness more than diametre. In this case, the M10's 3inch gun of same calibre performed poorly by comparison.
Anyways yes, Elefant is to hold ground, Tiger goes in guns blazing.
The important thing to note here is that it's the same projectile, but a longer case with more powder and therefore more power. The barrel length (the L/71 and L/56) is also a considerable factor.
Not in the game.
It is. The Elefants gun is WAY more powerful than the tigers. The difference is actually bigger than IRL. The Elefant deals twice the damage and has almost twice the penetration.
I stopped using tigers when they got killed in two seconds at full health 3 times in one match...
That only ever happens if you are stupid enough to stall for a heavy without support when there is already a ton of AT on the field.
but yes. is slower., and very vulnerable at short range.
is a great bait. if you plant some mines and add some hidden PAK40.
Elephant cannot outrun, but outgun its opponents due to its range & damage.
I personally wouldnt use both of them. I have called in the elephant from time to time in sheer desperation to stem the tide of allied tanks, but only as a last resort.
the combination of stugs+brummbär or/and panther+panzerwerfer are more flexible. u can deploy them fast to each sector of the front.
