How the hell do you swim up?
So far, 9/10 times I find myself underwater it's a death sentence. That rare 1/10th time Rico actually surfaces.

I've been avoiding the water like a cat because of this.

Hold W, aim with mouse. He just swims wherever you point your mouse, so yeah..

He doesn't move if you pitch the camera up, so yeah.. :-\

Only if the camera is perfectly level, so yeah.. :(

No idea what you're doing then, works for me. Are you using a keyboard/mouse?

No

I'm using a xbone controller and you just look up to swim?

If I look up, Rico just swims level. He refuses to move up or down.

I'm using mouse for aiming and gamepad for movement, but I don't think that's the issue. I've tried with just the gamepad and it doesn't work that way either :-\

I had this issue at first with Xbox One controller, try pushing the Left Stick forwared (swim forward) and pull the right stick back look up, that works for me. It could be because you are using the mouse for aiming...try using the controler while swimming.

With a controller I just push both toggles up and he swims up to the surface.

That makes sense, I have my cam Inverted, that's why I pull back on right stick to look up. It could be because he's using the mouse for aiming. I had this happen in another game I can't remember, but the mouse aming did not carry over fully to right stick commands/movement.

Yeah, that worked. I flipped the mouse upside down and used the analog stick to move the camera. Seems to be some sort of weird conflict of interest where it cannot figure out what control scheme I want.

Otherwise though, mouse + gamepad works really well. I think people with Steam controllers trying to emulate a mouse with the right trackpad are going to run into this problem.

I have been using a steam controller and haven't seen that but there is a nasty little frame stutter that occurs when you combine a pad input and mouse input at the same time.

Is that with the right pad configured in joystick mode or virtual trackball / mouse? I have a Steam controller too, I tried originally to use the mouse mode but it just wasn't sensitive enough and I went into left hand = controller, right hand = actual mouse mode :P
