TalkTalk insist on MTU of 1432
Hi there, I've emailed a pre-purchase query in about the above but as i'm waiting for a response to decide if i will buy this game i thought i'd also post it here.

I note that there has been a recent patch released to address multiplayer issues. Whilst i was reading the patch notes published for this (as published here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/221380/discussions/1/828936719158701487/ ), i came across an alarming suggestion within these patch notes that if was having issues joining the game lobby, that i am to change my MTU setting on my router and PC to 1492 or more. I quote from the above patch notes:
"Can you connect to other games? Are you able to chat with other players in the lobby? If no:

Follow the troubleshooting guidelines above for question 1.

Open a command prompt and type the following:

ping -f -l 1492 www.valve.com

If you see “Packet needs to be fragmented but DF set”, ensure that your computer and router are configured to allow an MTU of at least 1492 bytes. http://www.dslreports.com/faq/tweaks/4._MTU"

Needless to say, i tried this ping test immediately as i know my MTU has to be set to 1432 as my ISP (TalkTalk) specifies, and as expected got the message indicated (“Packet needs to be fragmented but DF set”).

My internet provider is, as just mentioned, TalkTalk, i am an LLU ADSL2+ customer (which means i am on their network rather than BT's), and TalkTalk insist on using an MTU of 1432. They do not support a higher MTU and attempting to use a higher MTU should not work on their ADSL2+ network. At all. TalkTalk's documentation stating their MTU requirement is here ( http://help2.talktalk.co.uk/broadband-wireless/what-mtu ). This is not something that TalkTalk will be able to adjust for me. Does this potentially mean that customers who are using TalkTalk as their ISP are high and dry as i could not find any mention of MTU requirements in the technical requirements. I cannot reasonably be expected to change internet service provider so that i can change the MTU if my multiplayer doesn't work, surely?

Is anyone from the company able to offer assurances that i can get a hassle-free refund or that an appropriate and reasonable workaround will be released for this shortly, if i am to purchase the game and find that i can't join and play multiplayer games?

And to other users, if anyone knows they are in a TalkTalk area, on ADSL, and NOT using TalkTalk's fibre connection (as that uses a higher MTU), can they verify whether it works / doesn't work out of the box?

Thanks.
