Mouse disappearing in Map Editor

Several times I have tried messing with the map editor only to have my mouse disappear and being unable to exit the progam other than tabbing out. Has anyone had this problem and is there a way to fix it?

I have the same issue. When I try to save - the mouse disappears. When I try to edit starting resources for players - the mouse disappears. Hoping for a quick fix!

I've had problems where my cursor disappears in RM multiplayer for a good 30 seconds (real time, not game time). I'm not sure if it came back on its own or if it was me pressing things frantically to get it back...

Same here. Can be worked around by pressing ALT + TAB away from AoE and then selecting an ediable box and pressing ENTER. Still pretty furstrating though...

Yer i have the same problem too, I found if you move the mouse while inputtig the resources it sometimes stops it from dissapearing.

Just checking in to say I'm having the same problem here. It's very hard to use the map editor like this. Specifically, I've found that it disappears when I try to enter some text into a text box. The cursor disappears completely, and I cannot exit the box by hitting Enter or Tab. The only way I'm able to get my cursor back is to move it back over the box in question (often difficult to do blind) and sometimes click, at which time it is a normal, visible cursor again.

Just posting in to give my two cents. I have the exact same problems and honestly if this isn't fixed asap I'm calling my cc company and putting a stop payment on this product. I still have the original AOE 2 gold edition and honestly at this rate Im about to boycot this HD edition. Too many bugs that the dev team are simply not working on. Oh yeah and its freakin MAY

hi, just thought i'd give you all what i did to fix it. i disabled 'hide cursor while typing' on my computer. the to change it in windows 7 go to control panel - hardware and sounds. under devices and printers click mouse. go to pointer options and uncheck hide cursor while typing. this should fix the problems, did for me :)

but its not right how that needs to be done to fix it, the devs do need to get there "stuff" together

I don't want to change my cursor when I'm typing in other programs. How do I fix it for aoe2 only?

Tried the workaround and can confirm that it 'helped' as the mouse doesn't vanish anymore, instead it simply remains in the 'text' mode like the | rather then the actual cursor icon
