I get this error no matter what custom AI I try to load. Is there any custom AI that works with AGE HD with FE DLC?

I would love to play this game, but a custom AI is needed to enjoy playing against the computer.

I'm having the exact same issue. I have aoe2hd with FE DLC and I've tried about 9 different AI's and I always get 5001: File open failed.. it also happens when playing only aoe2hd. I would very much welcome a solution for this problem, because as stated above, custom AI is really needed for some interesting game against computer

Having this same error with every map/mission, no custom AI installed.

EDIT: I went to the install folder and made sure that both the Launcher and game .exe were set to run as administrator. That seems to have fixed the issue!

if you use ai from old aoc they are not always full compatible
