Error code 41

Whenever I launch the game and try to load up a save, it just quits and says completing installation 1%, then it just exits out. It just started doing this while I was in the middle of a game. I have no idea how it started or how to fix it, any help?

Thanks laptop65, but now when I go to my library and click play it just gets stuck on the launching game screen. AoE is being a ♥♥♥♥ to me today =/ any idea on how to iix that as well? The only thing I did so far was reinstall it and it didnt work.

To disable the launcher follow the steps below. Game updates or verify file caches may re-set these changes.

1. In your Steam Game Library, find the game. Right click it and click Properties.
2. Click the "Set launch options..." button.
3. Type in NoStartUp and click OK.
4. Click the "Local files" tab.
5. Click the "Browse local files..." button to open the game folder.
6. Delete (or rename) "Launcher".
7. Make a copy of "AoK HD".
8. Rename the copy to "Launcher".

Well I did everything you both said and it still isnt launching, I dont understand =/ I might have to give up. This is pretty annoying

Found a fix on reddit, worked for me. I tried everything i could think of, verify game cache, update drivers, restart everything. The solution isnt difficult. here is the link to where i found the solution:

Basically in steam go: Steam > Library >right click on game then Properties >Betas tab and choose patch 4.3. let that install then run the game and all fixed.

thats not really a fix, its an downgrade to an earlier version, people that dont use the same version are no more able to play in multiplayer. i also had the error 41 sometimes, but i deleted my ingame profile (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Age2HD\profiles) and the issue did no more appear, i always use the latest updated version.
i suggest to stay always with the latest version, because once new updates and patches appear, you will no recive them automatically if you use an beta, so you dont get the newest updates and fixes.
