When joining a multi-player session, I can't choose neither my team neither my civilization ?

I found a solution; me and all my friends went back to 3.9 and it work like a charm!
The 4.0 that just released have so many bugs that need to be fix.

Go to game library Properties>betas>select 3.9

Basically sometimes I enter a multiplayer game lobby after this v4.0 update, and I can't click any buttons. Can't click dropdown to change civ, cant click team, cant click im ready, cant click cancel... I actually have to open task manager and kill AOE2HD to fix it. Weird thing is if I try to rejoin that same game, it will happen no matter what. But if I host a new game it works fine..

This happens when you join a game from a friend invite... The workaround is to find the game in the lobby browser, or run age of empires, go to the main menu, then alt-tab or alt-enter to put it in the background/window and then, after the game is running, go accept the friend invite, or join the game.
