Game crashes when initiating the Battle of Falkirk campaign mission

I'm at the final mission of the William Wallace campaign and when I start the campaign, the loading screen appears and my game shuts down without any error message a few seconds later. I have tried verifying integrity of game cache.

I'm having the same problem. The mission attempts to load, drops to the Steam interface, and tells me it is installing something. Then, I get an error message stating that the Steam servers are too busy at the moment.

seeing identical behaviour. Oddly, it looks like it wants to suddenly download something and update the installation as the steam popup is 'Compleing installation 1%' before kicking to error 41.

Same here. Reinstalled the game. Now it just crashes and gives no error message whatsoever.

Same here, came looking for a solution and found nothing. I might just skip the last tutorial, but sucks that I can't play it.

I'm having the same problem, the game closes during loading of the last mission and a window appears saying that the steam is completing the game, but the error and says that the servers are overloaded. has anyone found any solution?

The same problem happens to me! I tried uninstalling Steam altogether but it still crashes! Please help!

I too have this crash. Running on 8.1.

Wow, this seems to be a pretty common bug!
I also get the 1% download thing occasionally, sometimes the game outright shuts down and sometimes it shuts down, acts like it wants to download something and tells me it's unable to.
