playing with a "non-Steam" player
Hi, i recently bought AoE 2 (african kingdoms) with Steam on my PC and i would like to play with/against my brother. But, my brother doesn't play with Steam, we bought the original AoE 2 and Conquerors like 10 years ago and we downloaded the FE extension. So is there a way i can play with him (despite the fact that our versions don't seem to be compatible) ?

after that, is it better playing with LAN or voobly/gameranger?

if you and your brother in the same location than playing over LAN is the best option
