When sending a unit in defending or range mode on patrol, this unit may follow an enemy farer than expected/intended when there are more than 1 enemies that triggered the units aggression.
Expected behaviour in defensive mode:
When patroling, a defensive unit should return to the its patrol route after the same range it does when simply standing. It does so only if the short following path did not pull the unit into the range of another enemy unit or building.
Buggy actual behaviour in defensive mode:
If the short following distance pulls the patroling unit into the range of another enemy, or, if multiple units triggered the patroling unit, they follow them almost forever.
Note:
Defensive patroling works as expected/intended if there is only 1 enemy that triggers aggression, and this enemy gets killed or exceeds the range, without any other enemy unit re-triggering aggression.
Expected behaviour in range only mode:
Units should not follow any enemy at all, not even short distances. They either walk the patrol route or stand and shoot.
Buggy actual behaviour:
Ranged units in ranged only mode follow enemy units the same (bugged) way like unity in defensive mode.
Fix the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ scenario editor!
With its current state, it is a complete nightmare to design any sort of map.
Bugs and annoyances:
- Whenever you select a "play sound" effect, every single next "display instruction" or "send chat" effect you click WILL automatically be selected to play that same file as well. (the only possible fix is to, every single time you create any "play sound" effects, you gotta find a text effect and select "<none>" songs on the list... Needless to say, extremely annoying).
- Display instructions WITH songs get completely broken for some reason (as if it was not broken enough already)...
- "Change speed" effect is presenting some inconsistencies (eg. you change the speed of a unit with +2, and then with -2... It's not gonna return to the original value for some reason - it's gonna be slightly slower).
- "Head" objects - along with plenty of other other/GAIA objects as well - has a very bizarre hitbox (totally out of place), and simply vanishing whenever any kind of object is created under it (even in game, such as creating a hawk near it for explosion effects).
- Again, display instructions, if cleared or replace in a small interval of time, tend to either vanish or get stuck for some reason... Also, they completely break whenever you change the game speed to x8.
- Whenever you're opening an effects or conditions list, if you type any letter (eg. "c", for selecting "create object" faster), the game will understand - for some reason - that you're searching for either: triggers starting with "c" or CONDITIONS (which, by the name of the effect, start with "c")... The only possible fix is to, painstakingly, select with your mouse a random item on the list, every time you're editing or creating a new effect/condition.
- Wild animals (hawk, boars, etc) and some OTHER objects disappear from the effect's/condition's object list whenever you click on one that has any other player selected on it. The only fix is to go to your GAIA effect, and then select OTHER -> UNITS (refreshing the object list) - then they'll appear again. Should be pretty easy to fix.
- "Heal Object" seems to break after being looped in small intervals of time (with high numbers of HP).
- The Banner of scenarios (when creating a mod package) tend overlap each other. It seems like the properties from the .json file regarding the name and directory of your banner are being ignored (even if you change the directory and/or name of the file, it'll still look for the defaults').
- Objects such as "Rubble" (a significant percentage of them) and "Bamboo stumps" (ALL of them) simply vanish from your scenario after the 1min mark.
There are some other ones I don't remember for now.... But fixing those would make many the life of many designers much, much easier already. I mean, if you're listening at all.
i suffer from this right now, right after you crossed the river and put your units back on land from the transport ship, you dont get the controll over the hero francisco de orellana back, which breaks the game, bc several minutes later the quest says to bring him to the leader of the near village which is impossible bc you cant controll him.
but i found a workaround, restarting the whole game fix it, even if you saved the game right before.
I had the same freezing problem but when I bought a gaming laptop the problem disappeared.
That's more of of your computer not having the processing power to easily handle that mission.
