Resolution Problem
Hey, so I have Dell Inspiron 15 (7000 series) laptop with a 4k screen, and the default (recommended) resolution is 3840 x 2160, So when I start the Age Of empires 2 the starting display is small but when it loads up the homepage seems fine but when I join any game its extremmely zoomed out I cant zoom in with my mouse wheel and even when I try to chat the chat box is really small.

I had the same problem with CSGO but fixed it by going in to the game settings, but as AOE2 doesnt have that settings i dont know how to fix it. AOE 2 display settings only offers Windowed mode, full screen and (something else)

If you guys know how to solve it, it will be a really big help as I can play AOE2 as of now becuz of this.

For technical reasons, AoE2HD can't run at a different resolution from your Desktop (it doesn't run in real full screen; only full screen games can have their own resolution). Therefore, you need to switch the size of your whole Desktop, before you start the game. Choose 1920x1080.

It's an ability that the original AoE2 had, but they ported it badly to Steam and it lost the ability to choose the resolution inside the game. The developers currently working on the game are different from the people who ported the game; it is not their fault.

I have a simmilar resolution problem. I've been playing this game for years and there has always been an option to choose between 3 resolutions. It has disappeared with some awful update, and now I can only play with the worst of those 3 resolutions. I hope it would be solved in the future.

Everyone on the phorums is talking about these problems, but they think is related to the desktop resolution, and my problem is not that.

By the way, I cannot play offline with a custom name (I can only play with my Steam name, ThePaypol), and I still don't know why, even when I've written to AoE support...
