We can talk about having a second boar arrive just as the first is finished later :)
The fact is, 2 boar = 700 free food = 14 free villagers. I don’t care how noob a player is, they will never lose 14 villagers to a boar hunt, so ALWAYS LURE AND EAT BOTH BOAR PEOPLE.
It's more complicated than that. There is also villager seconds lost in failed lure attempts, and the fact that until you hit castle age and have multiple TCs there is a hard cap on how many villagers you can have by time X (so losing a villager hits you harder than missing out on 50 food, since you now also lose any further resources that villager could have gathered).
But yes, there is still no excuse for not eating boar and learning how to lure them.
Intentionally omitted :) There are also factors like rot that complicate it. My goal here is to keep it simple and make a clear case of the importance of always hunting 2 boar. HAVING 2 UNHUNTED BOAR IN YOUR BASE AT THE END OF THE GAME IS INEXCUSABLE.
see my most recent reply before this one.
also if u have 6 on sheep and have just killed a sheep now is the optimal time to be heading to your boar and luring as most of the time you will arrive once that sheep is completed
after luring the first boar you need to check the food that is left, send villager to lure around 200-175
you must lure quicker than this if you are mongols
also you will need to force deposit the food since hunters carry a larger capacity of food, if you want to maintain an active non idle TC
real men dont use laming...
I usually have my scout on #1 so I do sheepers #2
