Elite Huskarl - base pierce armour: 8 + 4 (blacksmith) = 12 pierce armor.
-> A shot from a hand cannoneer does 15pts damage to an elite huskarl. As hand cannoneers cost 50 gold and e.h. still get their +8 bonus (vs archers including gunpowder units), it is risky business to fight off huskarls with hand cannoneers only (huskarls are cheaper and can be massed faster). The solution would be to use tanking units infront of the h.c., e.g. champions, cavaliers, hussars or even halbs.

@CBA: huskarls vs jannis is pretty much a nightmare. You would really have to use some superior micro to stand a chance there (make use of huskarls' speed, distract the jannis with a smaller army to bring a bigger army closer to them, use patrol to clump up the huskarls infront of the jannis etc etc). Best advice in a team game though: run and fight somewhere else ;)
They are made in the archery, and have range. So that sounds as archery to me.
Theyre completely different from archers and serve a completely different purpose though
All units from the archery range qualify as archer units (yes, that includes hand canonneers and cavalry archers)
Janissaries and hand cannoneers have an anti-infantry bonus, while Huskarls have an anti-archery bonus. What does this mean? It pretty much means that they both have a bonus against each other. If the Huskarls can somehow close the gap, then they can slaughter the hand cannoneers / Janissaries very quickly.
Jannisaries and conquistadors do not get an attack bonus against infantry.
