Best Unit Combinations?

I have been searching for a civilization and military that can work in "almost" any scenario. From my experience so far the Teutonic knights accompanied by just about any other unit can be dominating.

I have also seen people use Seige Onager's and Archers and completely destroy people.

Just looking for some other and ideas.

teutonic knights with mounted archers can be pretty effective. Celtic Woad Warriors by themselves are pretty OP. I usually steamroal entire settlements with two dozen petards.

Honestly, with some of the imbalance issues in AOE2, if you mass FU EMamulukes, you are in pretty good hands with treb and monk aid. Other combos that can be good are Pikes and Paladins, Cav Archers + (Champs/Paladins), Pikes + Scorps. To counter your Teutonic knights however, I'd use scorps against them, and then counter your supplement. Some of the best unit combos are whatever will work against your enemy. Study the Tech Tree!
