Does Age of Empires work fine on Windows 8?

hi guys considering buying this to play my friend online just finished age of mythologys,,are there any known issues with windows 8? thankx

It works on Windows 7, and Windows 8 is based on Windows 7, so yeah, I don't see why it shouldn't work. Afterall, this "re-release" was intended to make people able to play since the original game lacks official support for Vista and later Windows versions (although it works for most).

I run it on Windows 8 with no in game problems. Don't get me started on Windows 8 problems.

The game works principle very fine on WIN8. But sometimes in the Multiplayer the Game crashes. But this issue is on every Windows Version.

I am running it on Windows 8.1 and it works fine.

There are bugs but they exist regardless of what version of windows you run it on.

It doesn't really work on any platform. Expect massive issues/wait4patch

I play it on windows 8 and the gameplay and campaigns work fine. There were release bugs (unit range was most notable) but the crew behind it has been fixing them over time.

i have Windows 8.1, but the multiplayers game crushs very often. what can i do to solve this problem?

Wait for a patch, it's a common problem for a lot of people :/

I run it on Windows 8.1 and I have never had one crash. It works perfect for me. FYI: I uninstall all Tile software, all crap-ware, and boot directly to desktop. My start screen is only icons that I use often, so I run Windows 8 just like I would if it was Windows 7.
