That implies that i am getting the age of empires II game, which is not what they are selling.
So i guess the confusing is on their part, maybe they know so little about this game they think aoe ll and aoc is the same thing.
Just wondering if it is illegal to sell a product named one thing, but not delivering the said product ?
If you look at the version that got ported to Mac OS, it was called Gold or something a long those lines, which is essentially exactly the same as this; access to the Aok campaigns, but Aoc gameplay!
The one thing I will disagree with is that it's massively different from Aok. The only real difference is in the community, and the settings they prefer to play with. A few extra civs, and a bugged patrol action really isn't massively different.
The name is only confusing and a problem to diehard AoK gamers that refused to migrate to the full (with expansion) game. While I have no problem with that and respect it, these players should be the ones making some basic research on the game content, since they have special needs that aren't the average player ones and they know it.
[HD]Kid there is a huge diffrence in the build up at the start of the game. Resource gathering takes a lot less work. There was a reason why most of the pros never played on AOC, there are a lot of small differences that might not be noticed by most people.
Im not really posting to complain, just want to see if AOE2 muilti-player can be supported also.
I'm a diehard AoK DMer - again, the reason most of us didn't move on was not because of the actual gameplay. It was because of the community, DMers (myself included) - would play non-seige games; playing with AoC civs would make the game unbalanced and the majority of the AoC community just wouldn't follow our very specific rules :D
Can't guarantee, but strongly believe they won't.
The icon that appears beside the name could have startled you about AoC.
There are still some AoK games being hosted on Voobly and Game Ranger - but the reality is that AoK was dead (bar a chunk of us, who've been playing AoK since zone shut, in our spare time).
The different build orders really aren't that difficult to become acustomed to for a good AoK player.
Yea, I played on game ranger. I have no dought i could become acustomed to aoc. Im just a bit dissapointed.
Any idea of when or if they will fix patroles?
I was disappointed when it wasn't AoK too, but its all good. They won't probably fix patrol as it was like that in the original and they want to stay as close to the original gameplay. We can hope though! its really annoying to me (and has cost me a few losses!).
I got 3 loss because of lag, and one player afk in the continue screen, You can wait for 5 hours and the game wont go on, so you just have to leave. gg rank :P
Patrol is so painful in aoc for some units like axe-men and mamluks. Also needs to be fixed for cs maps.
One more reason why Classic AoE + userpatch is the better version so far. It also fixes that.
